Review summary

This was not only my first cruise, but it was a bucket list trip. I have found my new way to vacation, I'm hooked!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was a breeze, in less than an hour and a half I had dropped off my luggage, checked in and was on the ship with reservations made.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The only problem I had with the food was deciding what to try next, even my least favorite meal was good.

Q Texas Smokehouse

5 out of 5

That was the best food on the ship, the sides were adequate because of the number that came with the meal. I'm from just outside of Kansas city and I must admit the BBQ was great, very tender and flavorful.

The Observation Lounge

5 out of 5

The observation lounge was a must see. The views from anywhere in the lounge were amazing, you couldn't find a bad seat. The only negative were the people sleeping in the seats at the windows.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
If anyone was board it was there own fault, there was always something to do. The Broadway shows, comedians and games were great fun, not to mention the spa.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I was not a fan of musicals, but decided to check out both Jersey Boys and Six, I can no longer say I don't enjoy musicals. The bands were great as well with a variety of music.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The entire crew were great, always smiling and saying hello or asking if you needed anything, by the middle of the cruise I was even recognized by a waitress I had once earlier in the cruise.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was spotless, I never saw anything on the floors even in the hallways on the decks with only cabins on them.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I stayed in a studio cabin that was nice for one person. My cabin steward was great, every time I saw him he was just finishing up and my cabin was clean. I can't even complain about the tiny shower because everything else was great.

Ship tip

Board as soon as possible and just wonder around every deck before it gets crowded, there is so much to see and do.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

4 out of 5
Seattle was very nice, from what I saw of it. I got in the hotel about 7:30 pm. I did see a bit of the city before my flight home . The space needle, and the market.

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
I did enjoy Sitka, I did a walking tour of the rain forest and some of the town. It was incredible.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
I didn't see much of the town, I took a whale watching excursion in the morning and an excursion to see the Dawes Glazier. It was a beautiful day.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

4 out of 5
It was an amazing day, even without getting all the way to the Glacier, too much ice the end of May. We saw incredible scenery and wildlife.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
The Whale watching excursion was amazing, we saw quite a few humpback whales, even with the rain.

KETCHIKAN (WARD COVE), ALASKA

5 out of 5
Ketchikan was great, I did another rainforest walk and the Grey clouds seemed to make the trees and moss seem greener somehow. I couldn't believe the amount of beauty I saw.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
This was a very short stop, I just grabbed a coupke souvenirs and walked around a bit. It would have been nice to have more time.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation seemed a bit rushed, I walked onto the wrong deck and was wrangled in with passengers carrying their bags off themselves. Still I only waited about an hour to get my luggage and meet up with my family.
