Review summary

Don’t book too many excursions. We did every port because of the deal ncl was offering. The ship is in good shape . Our room was nice, and a good size for 2 of us. We celebrated our anniversary, ncl or our travel agent recognized it nicely. Ncl is our preferred cruise line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The local needs a lot of work. Slow service, food not good. Main dining rooms very good. The 2 specialty restaurants were very good. Recommend Cagneys if you like beef.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We like the bowling. It’s fun!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were good. Jersey boys a little long for the not so comfy theater seats

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service good in every place but The Local

Ship Quality

Love the waterfront area.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very large bathroom. Balcony tight, but we knew it was small to begin with. 2 fit on it comfortably

Ship tip

Don’t get lost because it takes hours to find your family

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

Pretty industrial port. Did the Hollywood tour, which was ok.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Cabo is very pretty, we lucked out with 4 whales to watch. The arch is very cool

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

4 out of 5
Ok port. We did the Jeep excursion, would NOT recommend. Old jeeps, you mostly drive in the city amongst cars trucks etc. the off road is very rough. We had to walk quite a distance back to the ship.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
We did the bus tour and Mexican show. The “cliff divers” really work you for money.

Ensenada, Mexico

5 out of 5
Ensenada is pretty dirty. We did the blow hole and wine tasting. Lots of walking through vendors to get to the blow hole. VERY CROWDED. The wine tasting is not set up very well for the crowd. Too many people.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Dry smooth process
