Review summary

The itinerary should be tweaked. Cruise was enjoyable but not exceptional. Disappointed in the quality of food offerings. Seemed like Chicken Parm was offered at every meal outside of breakfast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was good and plentiful but I was not blown away as I had always been in the past. Seems they have taken away things like filet mignon, crab and lobster from the menus, it was only available in the specialty restaurants. I remember when there were at least 2 nights in the regular dining room when these things were available. The omlettes in the garden Cafe had a pasty taste. They do not use pure eggs, they are processed.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Line dancing lessons, presentation on running a floating hotel, fitness center, massage. They were all very good. Tried to attend a spin class, the instructor was kind of a jerk, didn't do the class because of low attendance and was not pleasant. Said he wouldn't do the class for a few people. I also felt like the massage was a high pressure sales tactic for a bunch of stuff in the spa. Enjoyed the massage but not the sales pitch.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Jersey Boys and Beatles were exceptional. Six and the comedians were average. The premiere of Jersey Boys was poorly handled. We arrived 20 mins early and only 1/2 our party was able to find seats. There should have been 2 evening shows. Otherwise, plenty of things to do on the ship.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
They were friendly and eager. I found that there for things I wanted help on, it was not easy to get such as internet help where the lines were long but had many offers to carry my plate in the buffet that I didn't need.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Arrive early for shows and presentations

Ports of call

Juneau, Alaska

We did the hike and Salmon bake, it was nice. Only did Salmon bake because other tours were sold out. Salmon bake was outdoors, food was good but had access to food on the ship so felt it was a waste of money

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

2 out of 5
Really not a lot to do there and we were there all day. Waiting areas at the top of the gondola were not comfortable. Should have added heaters as it was rainy, wet and cold. Zip line was delayed an hour due to wind and waiting was miserable in the little shelter. Felt like a wasted day as there was so little to do at this port.

Cruise Glacier Bay

The rangers couldn't board due to weather.

KETCHIKAN (WARD COVE), ALASKA

Would have liked more time here and less time at Icy Strait

Victoria, British Columbia

Either remove this stop or give more time to explore. Arrived around 9 pm and had to board by 11 pm. Very beautiful town but felt rushed

Thanks for the review. Try a one-way cruise between Vancouver and Alaska or vice versa for longer times in each port.
