Review summary

Overall a very pleasant & relaxing cruise. Ship was laid out differently from others we’ve been on. Liked the specialty restaurants, but didn’t much like paying for them. Deck 15 observation lounge was a great place to relax & read a book. Racetrack was neat, but very underused. Really enjoyed the free drinks.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was sort of confusing, but went pretty quickly (30 - 45 mins)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Ate in 5 specialty restaurants, food was very good in all of them. Liked Los Lobos & Texas Q best. Free Dining room menus seemed kind of bland. Buffet was also very good for breakfast & lunch.

Q Texas Smokehouse

5 out of 5

Brisket was excellent & entertainment was good.

Los Lobos

5 out of 5

Wife’s favorite meal of cruise was the Pablono Pepper.

Coco's

5 out of 5

Coco Mohito is excellent

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Only 1,400 passengers onboard, so no lines for anything. Had fun on the racetrack - faster than I expected, and I was the only car on the track.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Had a letter in our cabin stating that both “Six” & “The Beetles Review” were cancelled due to Covid. Jersey Boys music was excellent.

Bliss Theater

3 out of 5

Wheelchair access is very limited.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Since ship was only 35% occupied, service was excellent the whole cruise. All of the staff were very friendly & helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything onboard was cleaned constantly.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin & balcony were both large and comfortable with tons of storage. Mixed feelings about being on back of ship. Somewhat noisy when props are churning the water and a little bit of exhaust smoke.

Ship tip

Don’t forget your hairbrush. Onboard shopping is very limited, and there is no place to buy incidentals.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Did not visit port

Tenders don’t mix well with wheelchairs

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

3 out of 5
Big city. Walked to Walmart to buy that hairbrush.

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
Neat small town feel. Bunch of expatriate volunteers standing along the street provide advice on what to see and how to get there. Even installed a tiled blue line showing how to get to heart of downtown. Market was neat.

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
Kinda like old Mexico with gritty streets. Had to take a shuttle to get downtown. One street for souvenir shopping.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick (remember only 1,400 passengers). Very helpful staff.

Would like to know what deck your aft cabin was on; we are slated for deck 11 aft, and are concerned about engine fumes.
