Review summary

Awesome ship, first time ever seeing a cruise line dispensing free upscale ice cream with multiple flavors for free in the Garden Café with your meals. Plus have multiple ice cream dispensing machines to satisfy any extra cravings. Extra charge I found on other lines. Meeting Wyland the artist (who's paintings are at the bow of the ship) by chance. He just happened to be on the ship. Coolest guy ever! Thanks for all you do to save the whales and make us aware of our environment.

Embarkation

Out of 6 cruises all over the world, fastest embarkment ever. awesome

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Gave it 4 stars for one incident, had 3 complimentary dinners for both me and my wife. Made reservations Teppanyaki, Los Lobos and Cagney's. Cancelled Teppanyaki, Los Lobos was great, didn't feel well to make it to Cagney's. My two daughters went with my wife with my room card. Told that they couldn't compliment one of my daughters meals with my card because the complimentary card was for me only. Really! Made reservations 3 months early, family situation change on the boat for that reservation. Cagney's wouldn't past on complimentary card benefit to family member. Took my family for the cost of that meal. Not family friendly when it comes towards adding cost to the cruise.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
It's an Alaskan cruise, water slides were closed, you had to be brave to utilize the water activities in a brisk breeze. Go Karts for daughters was a lot of fun.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Only saw Havana which was quite good, too tired for Jersey Boys with an early excursion in the morning. The reservation system 3 months out, hurts the family as your situation can change during the cruise. Stand by did seem to take everyone in for Havana though.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone it seemed tried to make it a great cruise experience. Great Job!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Brand new ship, no smelling of cigarette smoke on entering casino. Observation Lounge one of the greatest ideas to have on an Alaskan cruise. We had a balcony but the lounge stocked with coffee, drinks and various cakes and snacks. Awesome concept!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Smallest balcony cabin of six cruises but the largest Bathroom with sliding glass shower doors and multiple water jets for the length of your body EVER! Normal balcony room I think for all Bliss cruisers.

Ship tip

This is not just for the Norwegian cruisers, I have had the same think done to me on another line but my room steward got it back for me. They will conficate your small electric fan if packed in your luggage and give it back to you at the nd of the cruise. If any of you are like me that likes feeling the air on your face, try placing it in your carry on and having your fingers crossed.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Embarked on cruise here, The pier was fun to explore before the cruise

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Great stop, Mildenhall glacier and whale watching, did all excursions through Cruiseline for a whole lot cheaper than booking onboard with Guest services

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
Did water jet boat tour saw a few seals and eagles, heard the train tour was great too.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
Ship got close to Glacier, ambiance was nice

Ketchikan, Alaska

Seaplane up the fjords, beautiful scenery

Victoria, British Columbia

3 out of 5
3 stars because it seems like an after thought. Victoria is awesome and beautiful but don't expect to do anything more than pay $10 each way back and forth to downtown to get great pictures and souvenirs from the shops. Docks at 7-8pm on Sunday and leaves at around 11pm for Seattle.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smoothest Disembarkment again ever! Take off your own suitcases between 7-8am without a hitch from immigartion and customs so yon can catch you 11:00am flight

Yes the pictures of downtown were awesome. The souvenir shops were cheaper than at the pier.

British Columbia question: how long to get off / back on Bliss? We are traveling with 2 1/2 yr old and trying to decide if it is worth the effort to disembark there. Thanks for your review! Cruising in Sept on Bliss, Inside Passage.
