Overall lots of fun. HAL wasn't really our cup of tea and that's ok. Would sail them again for the right itinerary. Had lots of fun in Alaska, definitely a memorable cruise

On board activities definitely geared towards an older crowd. Cruise director only had 1 person with her to manage all activities. May have changed since then.

Ship tip

We were some of the youngest on the ship. We're probably not HAL target demographic though. Ship was pretty quiet by about 9pm.

Thanks for sharing, I just came out the Nieuw Amsterdam and the activities are also on the minimum side. This was fine with me, as I enjoy reading and relaxing, but if people expect to have a lot of activities they'll be disappointed. Evenings have a bit more, but nothing like big musicals or other shows like other cruise lines. Mainly dance, piano bar, blues bar, classical music stage.
