Compared to the classic Holland America Line ship the main deck which is supposed to be the promenade deck is extremely poor with insufficient space (width). This is a severe design mistake. Likely in order to optimize something else.

Copenhagen is my birthplace, and though not living there, it is a nice city with a lot of history and worth spending a couple of days before or after the cruise
Kiel itself not really interesting. However, we arrived as The Kieler Woche (The week of Kiel) began. It is the world's largest sail regatta with 1000s of boats and ship participating. Fantastic experience
