The cruise focused on the passage of the Panama Canal. This was great. The ship provided movies to explain the history of the original and the upgrade. The staff and crew were fantastic as was the food and dining arrangements. A bit of a long cruise at 14 days but great weather made for an enjoyable experience.

This is a smaller ship, but was of excellent quality. Overall great cruise. If there was a weakness, it was the entertainment and the shore excursions, most of which seemed to be riding in bus. Not much choice for excursions, but we were able to walk right off the ship and explore each port. We had a good time doing that and there was plenty of time in each port. I would definitely recommend this cruise and Holland America line.

Overall the cruise was wonderful! The staff was OUTSTANDING! We took the cruise for our honeymoon and was made very comfortable. We enjoyed meeting many people and loved seeing the different ports. Take the cruise you will not regret it!

Nice ship but food and service were lacking. Not much going on in the evenings. Scheduling dancing at 11:30pm for a ship-load of old people is ridiculous. Most other ships we’ve been on had dance music every evening after dinner. Even shopping was dull.

Holland Cruise Lines makes cruising easy. Everything I needed was taken care of swiftly. Already planning my next one on Holland.

This was a pleasant if unexciting winter break. Holland America provides good food, great support for mobility impaired guests. The naturalist's presentations were a welcome break from a misguided emphasis on shopping. Ports have limited interest beyond water sports and great rum drinks. Accessible cabins were very well designed and comfortable. Evening shows were limited.

I would have given this cruise a 3.5 not 4.0. The entertainment really needs some work. I know it may cater to an older group but there should be more to do. Some pool activities and more shows in the main room would have been nice.

I was told that this line was mostly used by older white people. I was surprised that there was a mix of ages, races, and cultures to interact with. I was very comfortable.

Nice itinerary if and when you reach all ports. Unfortunately ship had above average motion while at sea

We enjoyed sailing with Holland America. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The dining was wonderful and the activities on board were varied and plentiful. There was no shortage of things to do or eat or see.

Excellent service and beautiful ship! So glad we were on it, especially for the holidays

The tender situation really needs to be addressed. It is a real safety hazard. Holland is still my favorite line, the food, having Mass and the quality of service are outstanding.

It was a time to be pampered and treated well by an excellent staff on board. Be ready to be greeted with a smile by everyone you meet. Loved the attention and cannot wait to go back with Holland America again.

Ship was nice but the staff seems to have management that does not care. Service was lacking throughout the ship.

Service was the best staff went out of their way to please. Did not care for Jamaica , old & dirty. Wall base in shower rusted needs repair. Movie selection in room excellent. Overall it was a very relaxing cruise, we enjoyed.

I have cruised on Holland 4 times now and it is by far my favorite cruiseline. The boats are a nice size with not too many people and you can really enjoy your time on the ship. This was my second time cruising on the Neiuw Amsterdam and enjoyed being back on the ship. The boat is more modern and the balcony rooms are great. Holland has great entertainment because they have a BB King Blues Club on every ship and the live band plays blues, R & B, and rock music. They kept us entertained the entire cruise. There is also good tv entertainment with a host of free movies and tv shows to keep you entertained in your state room. Room service is free for every restaurant but one and that is a nice perk. The locations we cruised too were nice. I had never been to Montego Bay and it was just average to me. Grand Cayman is my favorite. Cozumel would be second. I am not a big drinker and did not want to spend a fortune for the beverage package. Instead was able to purchase a beverage card for either $50 or $100 and this worked very well. You can use it for alcohol and non alcoholic beverages. It does have to be used completely by the end of the cruise or you lose your money. Holland's captain hosts a lunch for those of us in the Mariner's club, which is their rewards program. We had free champagne and also received a nice souvenir coaster. This is a nice touch to show their appreciation. Holland is a part of the Carnival family, but it is more upscale with a smaller chill vibe which is great for those looking for that type of experience. I have been on Carnival, Norwegian, and Holland. Holland is the best for me! All in all we had a good time and will be cruising with Holland in 2019.
