Review summary

We did the Denali extension after the cruise and it was wonderful! Train from Whittier was long - almost 11 hours - but we were treated well, fed well and the sights were amazing.

Always great to have a special meal on the cruise, steak and lobster are my favorites. Good food and good service.

The Dining Room

This was the first time I only ate once in the dining room as we usually have a reserved table. Tried something different this cruise and had most meals in the Lido. The dining room is still a very nice place to have a great dinner.

We visited Guest Services a couple of times and had several phone conversations with personnel due to someone smoking in the room next to us. They smoked constantly and our room was inundated with the smell. While this is an unusual event, and hard to catch the person smoking, the people were very professional and responded quickly.

At first we thought this cabin would be iffy. We did a guaranteed Signature Suite cabin and got this assigned to us a couple of weeks before we left. Spacious and nice and even though it is right next to the exterior elevator, we found that it although there was a very slight blockage of viewing, we saw so much from our veranda that this really wasn't an issue. No noise at all, motion of the ocean was minimal.
