This was our third cruise to Alaska and we enjoyed everyone. It was a perfect way to get away. The only down side is internet is almost non-existent, and phone service was only in the ports.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
We embarked in Vancouver & they had 3 cruise ships leaving (think 4000 people) and only 16 immigration agents to screen them. It took forever
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The ships staff prepared fantastic meals. Everything was freshly prepared, presented with lots of eye appeal, and great taste. The serving staff was personable and always had a friendly smile.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Not all the pre-pandemic activities had come back. We missed the cooking and computer classes. The movies, lectures about Alaska, the native population, each city we visited were informative and really worthwhile. The art classes and talks by the National Parks people was great.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
They had a good variety that we enjoyed. The only issue was the venues filled up quick so we had to arrive early.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We were happy with the service that they delivered.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
It was well maintained, the ships design was the same as a lot of the other ships we have gone on, vey functional and nicely decorated.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Loved the location, right near the elevators. It had a queen size bed, love seat, balcony with two chairs and stools that we made lots of use of. Very comfortable, well designed and great space to spend the two weeks we were on the ship.
Ship tip
If you can't stand in long lines when embarking in Vancouver, don't hesitate to ask for a wheel chair. It will save you a lot of aggravation.
We signed up for a hop-on-hop off tour upon debarkation which was the best thing we could have done. The company delivered our luggage to the hotel while we toured the city. We then visited Stanley Park. Wear good walking shoes for a great tour. The next day we visited Yorktown, took a water taxi to Granville Island, what a fantastic place, a hidden gem, shops, farmers market, craft fair, food fair all rolled into one spot. We took a tour of the harbour with SeaVancouver with Caption Jake, great time. We also visited the Aquarium in Stanley Park and loved it.
