Review summary

Holland America really made my first cruise amazing. Top notch!! They set the bar so high, I can't imagine cruising with another line! I will be back!!

Since this was my first cruise, I was unsure what to expect. I did not receive instructions on where to go but was able to get assistance from an employee at the Pan Pacific Hotel. After getting on the ship, I was unsure where to go but was later directed to my room. It would have been helpful to have clearer instructions about what to expect for embarkation.

We loved Nieuw Amsterdam also. We weren’t on it for Alaska though. Hope you went to the Dive-In. ,an eatery by the pool that has hot dogs, fries and the best hamburgers you’ll ever have!

Yep, that first time boarding is definitely a bit confusing and likely not helped at all by the excitement level we feel! Glad you managed and your cruise was good!
