The cruise through the Glaciers was amazing. It was great seeing the icebergs. If I cruised Alaska again I would choose a different ship with better food and entertainment
Embarkation
3 out of 5
It wasn’t stated on our paperwork what time we had to embark. We got through customs ok to have lunch on the Lido deck. It was very crowded with all the passengers there and the air conditioning wasn’t working properly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The buffet on the Lido deck was ok but they didn’t serve real coffee and the eggs were clumpy. We dined mostly at the Dining room which was a much nicer experience. We had one lovely dinner at the Tamarind restaurant.
Explorations Café
3 out of 5
Good to get a nice coffee here. There needed to be more places on the ship to get decent coffee
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
There wasn’t as many activities as I thought there would be. We went to the casino and had a spa
Greenhouse Spa And Salon
4 out of 5
Had my hair done at the Salon. Lovely sitting there watching the water go by
Lido Pool
3 out of 5
Swam in the spa a few times. Good to have it near the Pizza Bar
Guest Services / Excursions
4 out of 5
The excursions staff were great. Very helpful and knowledgeable
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The entertainment was disappointing. There was one illusionist, a comedian, a couple of dance shows that were mediocre and a movie
B.B. King's Blues Club
4 out of 5
BB Kings Jazz bar was great. Awesome singers
Children's Programs
Not travelling with children
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Most of the staff were Phillipino and a lot of them couldn’t understand what you were asking them. The staff at the Shore excursions were great
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
It took a while to get to find our way around but it was good having the maps everywhere. Sometimes the lifts were a bit slow. The areas were tidy and there were some hand sanitizer stations but not many
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
We had a balcony cabin and it was nice sitting outside. Our cabin was quite small and the bathroom was tiny. We thought that the ship had been recently updated but our room looked like it needed a makeover. There were some marks on the wallpaper. The bed was really hard but the steward put a topper on it which made it s bit softer.
Ship tip
The experience of sailing through Glacier Bay was amazing but if I did it again I would probably choose a different ship
Vancouver is great. Lots to do there. We did the Hop on Hop off excursion at the end of the cruise which was great because they sent our luggage straight to the airport which left us free to explore Vancouver on the bus for the day. We also had a ticket to get the Sky Train to the airport.
We went on a Whale watching photo safari excursion and went to see the Mendenhall glacier. Lots of tourist shops with jewellery, hats and t shirts at the port
We got a Hop on Hop off excursion which was great. We put our bags out the night before and they were delivered straight to the airport. We were one of the first off the ship and there were people there to meet us from the shop on Hop off bus to show us what to do. It also included a ticket to get the Sky train to the airport. Would recommend this excursion
