Review summary

The food on this cruise was exceptional. The menu was different every day except for the standby choices. I especially enjoyed all the wonderful seafood choices. I also enjoyed lunch at the Pinnacle Grill and dinner at the Canaletto. The food for lunch at the Pinnacle was the best. It would be nice if all the specialty restaurants offered lunch options during the cruise.

The seating in the dining room was a little confused and a bit slow. Perhaps people with pre-chosen tables and times could just go in after using their room cards to let you know they arrived.

Lots of variety and fun at the shows. I especially enjoyed the crew shows. They are talented and obviously proud of their cultures. It seems to work well sharing entertainment with other ships.

Our steward Azis was wonderful. He was always there to take care of our every need. It would be nice if HAL gave the crew computer time for their families to visit with them when the crew is traveling for months.

This was the cleanest and best maintained ship I have sailed on. Three cheers for the captain and has well managed crew.

Cabin / Stateroom

This cabin was very nice and though not high up it was quiet with easy access to everything. It was fun being on the balcony as we traveled through the canal. Lots of good pictures! The cabin is well designed and hold ample storage. I asked for more hangers and they were provided by our excellent steward.

Ship tip

This is a great, well managed ship. Take the opportunity and go any where on this ship. You will be glad that you did. This was my second trip on the Nieuw Amsterdam and I was not disappointed.
