good time. by kmrick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The cruise was pretty good all around minus the disembarkation which was a mess. The second there was a problem an announcement should have been made explaining problem and directions to stay in cabin till number was called...it was mass confusion.

Excellence of the Seas by heatherasheehan

We so enjoyed our time on Navigator of the Seas, it was a great experience for the family, we had previously been on a Disney cruise and felt like we would not enjoy as much, but everything exceeded our expectations.  Dining, service our waitress Melissa Rodriguez was awesome and our stateroom attendant Jose Martinez saw we had everything we needed.  The kids enjoyed the rock climbing wall and the onboard activities and gave the adults some R&R.  Overall I feel relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for our next cruise in 2018!

Family Vacation on Navigator of the Seas by kre1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We have traveled with Royal Caribbean as well as other lines.  We were very pleased with the meals provided by the Windjammer and particularly with the dining room meals and service.  We were very unhappy, however, with the people who would visit our table trying to get us to purchase meals at their restaurants.

While we had considered dining at the Mexican restaurant (Sabor?), after they gave us the "hard sell" at our table, we were so put off, that we decided not to dine with them.  We went on a cruise to relax and unwind, not to be "harassed" by the restaurant staff.

We also would have appreciated more wait staff to provide beverage service on deck 11 versus standing in extremely long lines to purchase beverages. Also, please consider providing more Caribbean music on the pool deck and additional tables to share space/activities with our family.  This was our second cruise with Royal Caribbean and after returning, I still don't know what benefits we should have received as members of the Anchor Crown.  The best part of the cruise was the Stingray excursion and the cabin and dining room staff.

Sail Away by juliagrimmett

We had an awesome time on the cruise. The bartenders on the 5th deck, the one with all girls will make you the best drinks on the ship! The only draw back I would have to say about the trip is sometimes you feel like they nickle and dime you but I am guessing this is an industry practice across all companies... 18% gratuity on everything...other than that the service and people were great....

Navigator of the Seas; Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Haiiti by rob1green2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was actually a 5 star cruise with only a few hiccups.  Customer service reveals the true character of a business and Royal Caribbean corrected and validated that aspect several times.  We had a serious water drain leak under our shower but the staff fixed it very quickly and RC made it more desirable for us to sail with them again, if you know what I mean (we will be back).

All ports were safe, as well as the excursions. The Magical Champagne Catamaran Snorkeling excursion was not what we had expected with the hour long drive to Ocho Rios, the extra hour long wait to meet up with other passengers from other boats, the not-so "state of the art" Catamaran, the underlying presence of crew and guides desiring tips (which is normal in a third world country). So it wasn't our first trip to a third world country and we overshot our expectations on this one. OK, so the RC's explanation of the excursion led us to believe it was "Magical" but by the "looks" it was not. HOWEVER, we safely spent all day in a foreign country, talked extensively with our shuttle guide (Deion, YA MON!) who was fabulous!! snorkeled a beautiful reef close by, climbed a beautiful set of falls, ate great food after it was all done, the crew was excellent, and ENDED UP LOVING THIS EXCURSION THE BEST OF ALL AND WILL DO IT AGAIN (best bang for buck)!! Stingray city was beautiful and recommend it, all RC excursions were great! Labadee was great, too.  Folks, you are going to a third world country and these workers are trying their best to feed their kids and just survive, so don't freak out when an issue arises that you don't like.  We all could use a little more understanding and mercy. That's why when my wife's shoes, shirt, and Sea Pass was moved and her pass later found in someones pocket.....we didn't go crazy, but notified RC's crew to let them handle it, and they did, and all was well.

The ship is beautiful and absolutely loved this cruise atmosphere. Could have better entertainment; we walked out of first nite's show :( :(. Not impressed with average singers so why try?? Slippery when wet was awesome, the comedian was great, as well as Jeffrey the Entertainment Director (he is worth following around the ship!!). The Acapella group was fascinating. The Promenade entertainment was exciting and dancers were great.  Kids venues were great, especially clubs for all ages.  Need to do a better job with the 12 year old-ish age group.  Several times doors were closed and they don't make friends easily. I recommend this age group to bring a friend.  Outside theater and movie selections were great, but i dont recommend showing a movie about Steve Jobs on a cruise, EVER. Watching the Elite 8 was awesome on the big screen.  Pools and Hot Tubs were awesome and enough space for all.  Plenty of shade areas at the pool was great, too.

Our four boys' (15, 13,12, and 8) 1st cruise was definitely memorable and they are ready to go back. We were concerned about certain "loose" things on Royal Caribbean since being a little concerned with the last Carnival cruise we took.  We had no issues with that sticky situation due to reasonably modest dress and well mannered teens and parents. They actually  liked the fine dining and even ate the Duck! Sports venue saved them (and us) as they spent most of their time playing basketball (sorry Heels:( ), soccer, and volleyball.  Flow rider and climbing wall was good too.

Reviews stink when you read them because you expect perfection but the reviewer tells all.  Just remember one thing .... IT'S A CRUISE!!!! YOU CAN'T BEAT IT NO MATTER WHAT!!!

Love ya Royal Caribbean staff (Wayan, Amit, and Ashely), we'll see you soon!!

Fair trip, cruise director a bit raunchy, entertainment not so good, ship could be cleaner! by mikekacer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were on this ship 4 years ago and it was much better. I loved the ship back then and was excited to go on it again. We were a bit let down. The ship had changed and the food was not as good. The staff was better on the last cruise, all in all we will go on another cruise line the next time, next year in fact!

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip by sandramackay

Navigator is a beautiful ship...newly renovated.  There was plenty to do with lots of activities.  This was our fifth and have always wanted to try a Royal Caribbean cruise.   I don't believe there is a perfect cruise.  You will always find something you like better on another cruise line.  But this was a very nice experience.

Royal Caribbean really takes care of their cruisers! by gshaw26

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I LOVED the cruise. I felt so special and taken care of. I really didn't want to leave.

- The ports of call were also amazing! My favorites were Labadee and St. Maarten. They were so clean and beautiful.

- The food was DELICIOUS! It was really well done for great volumes.

- The entertainment was great! The comedian, ice skating, and music shows were so entertaining and fun.

- RC thinks of EVERYTHING. On the days we cruised, they provided poolside pool so everyone can stay where they are and keep having fun.

Some downsides:

- The Navigator of the Seas is a little small for an 8 day trip however. During the two days we cruised back, EVERYONE was out at the pool and there just wasn't enough space. That was a huge disappointment.

- It would have been nice to have other areas to eat. We only had 2 options for sit down; the Sapphire dining and Windjammer. The food got a little monotonous after a while.

- It would have been nice to have more things to do on the ship like ziplining or fun things for the whole family and not just individual age groups.

Not what I expected by jncruz1978

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I have always heard Royal Caribbean is top notch, but there was nothing that was spectacular. The food was mediocre, the accommodations were ok, and the best entertainment I saw on the ship was a children's symphony that was travelling on a concert series. This ship was also apparently so crowded, they were not able to accommodate our large group to eat together.

O.M.G. by karajmartin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I had the absolute best time ever. I had been on one other cruise but I didn't have any idea "how to cruise." I believe there's an art to this sorta thing. JK  It was just so dang much fun...... I don't know where to start.

Ok, first, I have to mention Jeffrey, the director of ..... something. He was on every day with the "happening's" for the next day. He was such a treat to watch (over and over). I would just the let channel loop cuz his sense of humor was so delightful. (The first day He said...... if he sees us and doesn't speak, we should smack him on the back side of his head. Soooooo, I saw him but apparently, he didn't see me. Well, he got smacked but took it so well. He said that I didn't give him a chance. Again, this is debatable. I swear he saw me. I did apologize but he totally took it in stride. He was so fun about it. Then to listen to him host the game shows..... WOW, he is such a natural and made the games so dang fun. I had a blast.

The first day we got there, I needed a nap but after I found out "how to cruise" (meaning there's just so much to do, there's no way you could get bored. (Besides that, only boring people get bored.) The activities that were provided were incredible.

We spent a lot of time at the Spa. It was incredible. Super informative. (Actually, I have solidified my decision to become a personal trainer because of the information I learned there.) It was relaxing, informative, energizing, rejuvenating.... it just .......... was the bomb.com on steroids!

The food. Well, even better than the food was the wait staff. OMGosh again, they were so incredible. Their detail to attention and the way they really cared for us was just so beautiful. I really couldn't have asked for better. We sat with Ritish and Robert every night and they were more than a treat. LOVED them!  A few of the other staff that we had for breakfast or lunch or who totally went out of their way to help us were Angelo and Latisha. They absolutely made my day with how accommodating they were. I was too happy to see them every day! Thank you all of you!!!!!

Kareem cleaned our room every day and ALWAYS had the most positive and upbeat attitude. I mean..... does this guy even know what a bad day is? Almost everyone was super positive and polite and almost everyone spoke when they saw us.

I LOVED, in all caps, this cruise almost as much as I love Jesus. Well, ok, maybe not to that extreme but definitely his disciples!!!!!

Very best vacation I've ever had!!!  EVER!!!!!  Def doing this again!!!!!!!!

First time Cruising in 20 years! by bencherry

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had an excellent time cruising with Royal Carribean.  I haven't been on a cruise for 20 years and was worried about sea sickness, etc. and it wasn't even an issue.  It's hard to even tell when the boat was moving because it's so big.

The service was excellent, the food was abundant and tasty and the amenities were fantastic.  Very much looking forward to our next one!

Fun but unorganized by aggielukas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We eventually chose to embrace this ship experience. ...after a difficult start.  Getting off ship first stop was unorganized and took a long time. First show not great. It improved. We loved our waiters and the comedians.  Very relaxing but also many fun activities.

Enjoyed the trip but... by djpcrna43

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was very nice and all the workers were very nice. But... it was spring break week and there were a lot of college kids on the ship. The solarium which should be a relaxing place was like a frat party. I felt sorry for the workers because they left such a mess. Once we figured out where they were hanging out, we went to the places they weren't. Enjoyed the stops. Didn't do an excursions just walked around leisurely which was enjoyable. Went to the sushi making class and wine tasting classes (up charge) on the ship which were fun. I would recommend this ship but just avoid the spring break times.
