Review summary

I believe that by taking away the opportunity for the crew to gain tips for giving quick, efficient service with a smile (none of the staff smiled at passengers except for the wait staff in the My Choice Dinning room) may be one of the reasons most of the staff seemed to hate their jobs. This new policy regarding tips is the only thing I can think of that may have caused such a different experience with the staff on board this ship as compared to my experience 3-4 years ago on an MSC cruise out of Rome where the entire staff was always friendly and helpful.

There was only one person checking a long line of us passengers in. The wait was very long and in the very hot sun. No shade provided.

The food was good and the staff in the “My Choice” Dining area we’re excellent. Always smiling and friendly.

Most of the staff was unfriendly & even rude. Most never smiled. The service at the bars was very slow. Only one bartender at most bars and it took around 15 minutes to get a drink. Very unfriendly staff except for the dinning room staff, sho were excellent.

There were empty drink glasses left on the stairs as well as pieces of food. I noticed the same items were left there for hours at a time.

Ship tip

We were on Sinfonia and have been on different MSC ships in the past & loved everything about them. Was very disappointing to see such rudeness towards passengers by most of the staff

We embarked on Venice. We were able to arrive a couple of days prior to the cruise. We really enjoyed our time in Venice.

We were in Mykonos for only a few hours, and it was night time, but the views were beautiful with all the lights around the harbor.

Loved this town. We did the cable car and old city walls excursion. Great views of a lovely old walled town.

Not a lot to do here. We did the beach excursion which was nice, but we were never offered the slice of pizza that was promised in the description of the excursion.
