Overall it was ok. The ship is beautiful, but they still have a ways to go to compare to Norwegian or Royal Caribbean. Food could have been better. Need more staff. There was just something lacking, meaning no extra nice touches. The price was good. Getting off on the islands took a very long time. Overall, just OK, but nothing major that would make me not take another cruise with MSC.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
It was a long process. Staff was really nice once we got to the counter.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Buffet was very limited and they had the same things day after day. Pizza was excellent. Main dining room food was okay...nothing special.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We did the simulator and that was a lot of fun. There was plenty of things going on all the time.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Shows were really good. My only issue was having to listen to six different languages before each show. They should speak in Italian and then have have it translated on a background where you can read the other languages.
Children's Programs
No kids.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Alex was our waiter for the 7:30 seating and he was awesome. Did not see the cabin attendant for three days which was fine. The bar staff in most cases not very vigilant about who came to the bar first. I think the ship is understaffed.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is designed very well for all the inside activities. The mail pool area is poorly designed. If you are sitting at the pool, you could not see what was going on where all the contests were. They have a large screen, but that was also blocked because of the structures.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was very clean and big enough. No issues there.
Ship tip
Redesign the mail pool area. Hire more staff. Train the bar staff to see who is first at the bar. there were times where we were at the bar first and 5 other people were served before us.
Great review. The pizza is amazing. Seaside is a big beautiful ship. I didn’t think the passengers were as friendly as they are on Carnival. They made announcements in 5 different languages. By the time they finished I had forgotten what it was about! lol
