Review summary

I would definitely recommend MSC and this cruise and the MSC Seaside. I liked how the itinerary worked, with the first day and a half at sea, to get to know the ship better, then start visiting the ports of call. With Ocean Cay as the final stop and beach day, it was a great way to end our journey.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate dinner each night in the main dining room. The food was excellent and the service was good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools we very nice, although a bit deep at 6 1/2 feet. No problem getting a lounge chair as long as you went by late morning.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Onboard entertainment was excellent, especially in the seaside lounge where they had a jazz piano player and a jazz singer (she was incredible). The stage show were very good, mostly acrobatics. The nighttime improv comedy show were great.

Children's Programs

We didn't bring any children

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Overall the service was very good.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The MSC Seaside is an incredible mega ship. Easily, the best ship I have been on. It was always clean, and the layout and design were easy to maneuver.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was very nice, consistent with other balcony cabins I have had.

Ship tip

We had the Easy Drink Package and it worked very well. Be sure to purchase the wrist band for $5, as it makes getting drinks and getting into your room easier without using your card. Also, with the Easy Drink Package you can order virgin frozen drinks and a shot on the side, and they will put them together for you, even though frozen drinks with alcohol are not covered. Also, you can order 2 drinks at a time with the Easy Package.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Ocean Cay is an amazing port of call. It is so beautiful and quite large. We rented a cabana for $250, and I highly recommend it. We had 10 people in our party, and it worked out great. Also, we could see the lighthouse light show at night from our balcony and it was great.

On the website all the cabanas say max 6 passengers; do they not enforce that then? We will be a party of 8! :-)
