This was our first MSC cruise and overall it was very nice. The one disappointment was the food. There was one main dining room and two buffets to choose from and the menus were limited. The ship was excellent, the ports were great and the shows were entertaining but the food was just okay. We would cruise with them again but I would hope they would consider extending the hours the buffet were open and include more food choices.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth. Lots of cruisers but we got through relatively quickly without any issues
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food was just okay. No 24 hour buffet which was disappointing and only two buffets and the main dining room to choose from each day. Extremely long lines and hard to find a seat in the buffet on a couple of occasions.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Fitness room very nice, nice pool areas, casino was nice, lots of areas to lounge in.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
I thought the shows were outstanding. The Michael Jackson show was the best.
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was excellent from waiters and ship stewards. My only advice is to check your mini bar when you get there. They charged one of our rooms for items from the mini bar that we did not eat or take out.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is amazing. Everything was cleaned and well maintained throughout the ship. When docking in ports with other ships, other passengers from other shops complimented the size and look of the Seaside.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin size was nice. Queen size bed and couch. Good closet size, could use more drawer space and a plug on both sides of the bed. The bathroom shower is tiny. My husband had to open the door in order to fit!
Ship tip
Pay attention to schedules. Know when the buffet is open and closed and boom your shoes the first day you get there.
Old town San Juan was amazing. I would definitely visit again to see the rain forest and the new part of San Juan. The forts close at 6 so if you dock at 5 go there first thing.
We went to Maho or airport beach and it was an amazing experience. Our son went to a beachcomber closer to the port and enjoyed it as well. The airport beach area is small and very crowded but it is definitely a bucket list experience.
We took a tour of the island and really enjoyed it. Perry was our tour guide and we stopped to shop for teas, souvenirs, rum cake and saw many parts of the island, including Atlantis, Queen Victoria steps and others
We agree . The food is only okay. We do ok only the yacht club each time we cruise MSC and even in yacht club food is only soso. But the ships r so nice and workers r great so we keep going back. Trust me foods better now then a year and half ago. So they r coming along gradually lol
