Review summary

First MSC, I’m normally a RC cruiser. It’s different, but a cruise is what you make it! If you don’t have a good time it’s on you!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy. Lines not as long as expected. Very organized. I think the self serve kiosks free up a lot of time!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good. Portion sizes ok, nothing was “extraordinary” but we enjoyed all of the restaurants.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Disappointed in the pools, not enough chairs (common on ships) the chairs at most of the pools were black and too hot to sit on without a towel under you. Also adult pool flooring was black and impossible to walk on without flip flops even to the pool! Adult pool you were not allowed to sit on the edge wirh a drink! But the pools with the kids you were. Seems stupid to me!

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Shows were subpar. Basically the same show set to different music the Michael Jackson show has so much hype I had high expectations. It was basically all lip syncing. Singers in restaurants and lounges were great.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Disappointed that we never saw our room steward even one time. Never met them. Never been on an 8 day cruise where we didn’t meet the person who cleaned our room! Wait staff and bar tenders were great!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship! Clean and really pretty!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Too warm. Too humid. Ac on full blast at all times and just didn’t really ever cool down. Everything else was nice and in working order.

Ship tip

Start a photo file with the photo desk day one. Pre buy your photo package- a small laundry package would be good also pre bought. Especially if you don’t have a balcony as bathing suits never really dried!

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Short stay, walked to the umbrellas and had a wonderful meal right next to them!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy on and off!

When I noticed that about the pools I was lectured on here about it not being a party ship.... which I already knew. It’s just something that I guess us Americans like to do that we find relaxing. We always had a drink in the kids water park area without consequence but the adult area forget it. I got whistled and yelled at. Also the jungle pool bar closing at 6pm when both jungle pool and the water park area were both open till 10pm. If you didn’t want a alcoholic drink, just a drink in general you couldn’t get one. Just found that odd.
