Review summary

We had so much fun on the cruise, mainly because of the people we sailed with and the crew members. MSC has the best crew members, they’re friendly, caring and so much fun to be around.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The food quality was ok, some days were better than others but for the most part it was consumable.

Aurea Bar

Spectacular!!! Dexter and Merlissa were the best. Friendly and fun to be around.

Onboard Activities

Water slides: when in port we had fun on the different water slides. Most of the passengers got off so we pretty much had the park to ourselves. We had a blast.

Aurea Spa

Simply awesome!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We dined in the Aurea Class restaurant (Manhattan) which was not very full but very nice with a pleasant atmosphere. Our wait staff (Stephen and Ray) were both on their first contracts and did a pretty good job. They were both a bit slow but did their best. They were very courteous and we always had fun with them at dinner. It was pretty much the highlight of the Cruise. We are very patient and gave them a lot of grace. The food was hit or miss, so days were better than others but for the most part it was pretty good. On most cruises the Head Waiter and Maitre D are not present but our Assistant Maitre D ( DeJan Simovic) was simply OUTSTANDING. We nicknamed him Bossman because he made things happen and he fixed problems. Whatever we wanted and whatever issue we had he took care of it. DeJan was special, he loves what he does and he takes care of the passengers. Very professional and we enjoyed the moment each time he came to our take. He had a wonderful heart and very nice sense of humor. He was the absolute best. As for the rest of the dining and wait staff, their were so many the we had met before on other MSC ships, Head Waiter Anil, who was our waiter a few years ago. We’ve sailed with him on three different ships. He is awesome and took great care of us is the Marketplace Buffet. Also Head Waiter Sheryl who we met last year was great. Other Waiters, Parris, Mikkile, Milagris, Randolph, Tyrodien, Deepak and Shyanne (Greeter) we’re all fabulous and went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. The bartending staff was the absolute BOMB! Starting with Dexter aka (Primetime) who we met on the Divina. We called him Primetime because he favors retired NFL Hall of Fame player Deion Sanders. His Fellow crew members Merlissa, Lance, Mika, Denzel, Jorge, Prem, Akim, Sheryl, Sherylyn, Philina (Eve) were all fun to be around. Anthony Housekeeping Attendant) who was very pleasant and also remembered us from the Divina. We’ve been on 52 cruises on various cruise lines but what keeps us coming back to MSC are the crew members. We have built many lasting friendships on MSC. The experience we had with our Stateroom Attendant was the exact opposite, Jose was by far the worst room attendant we ever had out of 52 cruises. We had to constantly ask him to do things over and over almost on a daily bases. Simple things that should be done every day such as, fill the shampoo and soap dispenser, extra towels, replace the drinking glasses and fill the ice bucket. It was was frustrating but we just made the best of it. I asked him how long he had been with the company thinking it may have been his first contact. I was blown away when he told me he had been with MSC for 12 years. Unbelievable

Ship Quality

The Seashore is a beautiful ship and very well maintained. Loved the design and layout. We had been on her sister ship the Seaside before. I did not like the elevator system, it’s totally different from any ship I’ve been on.

Cabin / Stateroom

Aurea Class cabin with the extra large balcony. The cabin was a standard size cabin, bathroom was very small but it was nice and clean.
