The ship was beautiful. It lives up to MSC standards. The staff for me did not. I truly enjoyed my first MSC cruise and was excited about going but was disappointed in the service this time. I don't know if I will take a third I expected so much more than I received, as a voyager club member I expected better service. I didn't even enjoy th3 Aurea experience even though I paid for the upgrade on my cabin and it was only me traveling so no small amount as I had such high expectations.

I upgraded to an Aurea experience but was issued a Fantastica experience card which caused me issues later in the cruise

Food and Dining

Because I was given the wrong classification.. when I went to my restaurant I was turned away. I went to guest services and had my card corrected and went back they jad no way of knowing my classification was incorrect. However they made no effort to help and subsequently turned me away a second time after I got my card corrected. I was very upset because I went to the trouble of trying to correct it without making a fuss to be treated as if I was an annoyance. The hostess told the matradee she had already turned me away and they acted as if I was in the wrong for returning after having my classification corrected.

The spa was wonderful.
Entertainment

I did not enjoy any if the shows I went to several and left them all. The one that was toe women of soul had no representation of African American women at all. How can you have the women of soul with no representation of African American culture.
Children's Programs
I did not travel with children or visit the venues .
Service and Staff

The room steward was exceptional. The restaurant experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I only returned to that venue once. I ate in a different dining room even though I was fuel the Aurea experience, it was not worth my piece of mind. I loved tjw steakhouse and taco cantina.
Also, when I was looking for my room I ran unto a ship crew member. I told him I was looking for my room. He asked my stateroom number when I told him 10001 he asked me was I sure and asked to see my sail card. That made me feel as if he was questioning my ability to be able to afford the suite. He seemed shocked but did finally direct me to the suite, after I showed him my card. I shouldn't have been questioned as to suite, i should have just been directed to the suite like any other guest. It made me think he looked at my ethnicity and decided I couldn't afford to be in the suite.

Ship tip
Be prepared to walk. The ship is beautiful but needs more elevators. There is a timeless elegance you will appreciate.
We got there at 5 I booked an excursion for 4 hours. We spent 45 minutes on the bus to the excursions. 15 minutes standing against a wall waiting for the dance instructor to come get us in the mall without any direction. There was a dance lesson about 20 minutes to shop another 20 to 30 minute wait for a Pina colada and then a bus ride back to the ship. It got dark and we saw nothing of the city.
The excursion was a bust for me. There was no waitstaff on the beach taking orders as said in the excursions booklet. If you wanted food and drink if you didn't go to the bar you didn't get service.
