Actually 13 Night Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro. We paid an additional night (to Santos) because our travel agent said embarkation in Rio de Janeiro wasn't available. It was. by consulmy

Weight Watches Cruise - worst ever by Gcittell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Preziosa

I don't have the words to say how disappointed and upset we were with the whole experience. We are avid cruisers and will be going again, but never on an MSC. If I can help just one person with not wasting their money on MSC, then maybe some good will come of our experience.

Embarkation was 7 hours by bruceporter5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Preziosa / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Overly zealous staff interrupt asking constantly how is everything. Ship is great. Embarkation worse than terrible. Sat in cold tent for about 7 hours. Staff seemed confused.

Second MSC Cruise: Preziosa by PenguinScott

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Preziosa

Overall-- 5 out of 10 Obviously, I don’t take the above scores and average them out. Overall is the feeling I had about my MSC experience from start to finish. They had a terribly confusing check in with no signs or direction and no logical flow. Bad first impression. My biggest complaints are these: The Aurea experience, which I paid to upgrade from their basic Bella experience, was basically Bella on coffee. Yes, the suite was grand (no balcony, but that view!). It included access to the Aurea spa, which was a great let down. The spa was full of people lacking manners or spa etiquette. They should ask guests to sign a sheet providing these tips. I was excited having access to an exclusive area, thinking it would be great to avoid people while worrying about covid. But this experience was more like being punished than rewarded. The area called the Solarium, is on the top deck and didn’t have an inch of shade. After surviving melanoma, the sun is the last place I want to be. Several months prior to my voyage, MSC ditched free wine at dinner. Of course, looking at reviews, I didn’t know this until long after booking. They offered free bottled water at dinner, so many left the dining room carrying extra bottles. I don’t drink more than 1 or 2 drinks a day, so it didn’t warrant paying for a drink package. It was far less expensive to pay for each drink. I do not like a class system on cruise ships. One thing I love about cruising is feeling as if I am just as rich as anyone else on board. Sure, they may have a special dining room for the elite. But I am used to sauna access and a view over the bow with my fare, without paying extra. And I can’t stand being nickled and dimed. A cruise should be all-inclusive. In taking away the free 1 hour spa treatment, the free wine with dinner, and offering the terrible Solarium, they are squeezing out the middle class. I would be better off with the Bella experience and paying for the extras. But that’s not all-inclusive. There is little that made the Aurea experience worth it, even with a glorious suite. This sailing was enjoyable and I do not regret any of it. I simply wish MSC offered a little more value. Bring back wine at dinner. Include 2 servings of gelato. Something. Anything. Add some actual value. Most like to be pampered and made to feel special, but can’t afford thousands more for the Yacht Club.

Good value for the money by vinfabrico

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Preziosa / Destination: Transatlantic

The value was good of the length of the cruise. The ports were very good on average. The ship was beautiful. The food was OK, mostly cheap food, all beef products were tough, the fish was prepared well and he pasta was a hit or miss. The entertainment was sub par.

Une bulle de rêve by papayef

Une croisière c'est ouvrir un espace dans le monde, dans le temps, dans l'espace, dans l'océan et se laisser porter par le temps rythmé par les vagues, le vent et les sens.

We looked forward to this trip for a long time. Ignoring the bad reviews as usually there are some. Though we enjoyed our vacation because of the itinerary-I will probably NOT use MSC again. The ship was beautiful and clean but the crew was the issue. by cw40home

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Preziosa

The crew was not helpful almost to the point of being rude. Very unorganized and most were not able to answer basic questions. Food on buffet was good but sometimes mislabeled so choose carefully. Jogging track is NOT a jogging track! It goes through a bar, tables and chairs and the smoking area. Not separate at all. The casino is very small We are not new cruisers. My 11th and my sons 17th and we have enjoyed every one of them. This one was disappointing because of the crew and I don’t think I would choose MSC again as there are so many other options that we have had good experiences on

First cruise with MSC by TampAGS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Preziosa

This cruise was unusual in that so many different languages were spoken on board. Announcements were made in French, English, Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. It was kind of like a floating tower of Babel. There are lots of things MSC could improve on. The itinerary, however, was fantastic! All in all, it made for a very memorable honeymoon.

Relaxing and enjoyable cruise. This is a transition cruise and we were lucky with the weather and that our cabin was on the sunny side.

Disappointing cruise line, some ports great, Casablanca to be avoided at all cost by benb24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Preziosa / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The cruise itself was sub par, most of the ports of call were great. Casablanca is ridiculously terrible, and Lisbon is awesome. As far as MSC is concerned, if you're used to the entertainment of Carnival you will be disappointed. If you're used to good food and included service of a Royal Caribbean you will be disappointed. The food was poor, everything you might want to do on-board costs extra, and apparently you have to be a black card member in order to receive wash cloths. This will be our first and last MSC cruise.

Great trip with a problem by cruisealaska

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Preziosa / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Booked an excursion which I thought was coming from the ship when we did it on line. Cruiseline.com/Shipmate company. When we go to Lisbon the time we were supposed to meet them was 20 minutes away. The ship could not let ppl off until okayed and it made us late. Contacted the company but they said we had to cancel 24 prior. How were we 2 know 24 hours prior they wouldnt let us off the ship. Lost $ 100.00, the cost of the excursion. If we had taken the 2nd excursion offered we would not have gotten back to the ship on time.

If you are an traditional cruise passenger and like glamour and class this is the one for you. If you are the new generation of travelers like us, you might want to read more reviews before going here.

Never again on MSC by Ripleyman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Preziosa / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

From the beginning when they changed the itinerary on us the cruise was a disaster. I have cruised 35+ times on 5 other cruise lines and have never had as horrible of an experience. I even went through a hurricane on a ship that wasn’t as bad as this. The food was tasteless boring and in some cases awful tasting. Their steakhouse was good but not exceptional. Their excursions were the worst ever. Poor English speaking and boring. They try to nickel and dime you to death. Only drink available for dinner was water. Ever other cruise ship offered tea and or coffee without charge. We boarded in England - an English speaking country- but got to hear every announcement in 6 different languages. I’m telling every one I know, and strangers I meet, to stay away from MSC. by the way, I visited with at least 10 other guests on the ship who had the same opinions.
