Great Cruise, thank you! by whit09smu

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This was an amazing week, my boyfriend and I loved it! Always entertainment happening, if you want something to do you WILL be able to find something. Look at the locations ahead of time to see what there is to do, prebook tours, it is definitely worth it. We had a balcony room and left the door open most of the time, the sound of the ocean while you sleep is so relaxing!

The staff was incredible, they're all very nice and wanting to talk.

MSC Poesia ,A beautiful ship... by Quincycquinn

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Poesia

MSC Poesia ,A beautiful ship , very friendly and helpful staff, absolutely spotless, the food was ok, catering for mostly the continental palettes, we felt that, the English clientele, wasn't as important than the Italian, French , German Clientele, as everything was interpreted firstly , in these languages, and quite fleetingly in English , so you had to listen very carefully to any announcements, or you would miss the 10 seconds English slot. As said beautiful ship , but didn't feel the vibe.

Beautiful Norway by EvaCruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

I knew MSC is more of a budget cruise, so did not expect luxury.  Everything was adequate, good service, average quality Buffett, sit down restaurant for dinner a little better. Enjoyed the shows and other activities offered by a very nice animation crew.  Good value for the money :-)

Great Cruise by alfredoduplan

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: South America

Overall very good cruise. Boat is very nice. Lots of activities. However, some people from the crew have an attitude not directed towards customer satisfaction. This was more prevalent with bartenders and some waiters in the buffet rooms. Also, buffets for breakfast and lunch were always the same. They had lots to choose from, but always same selection. That means that after 9 days, you want some variety.

MSC Poesia 7days Eastern Caribbean by MardelCar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This is my second time on this ship.... The ship was beautiful and the crew is very nice On this time the entertainment was exceptional 7 night and 7 different fabulous show on the theater ...The entertainment Team was hilarious...the best on the all cruise i made. The public areas was clean On my taste the food was good but not to many choices.. The staff on the restaurant was very nice ..... I got oceanview cabin at little bit obstructed but was comfortable and clean I made excursion by the ship on Antigua and San Juan.... Antigua...went to the beach and lunch ....beautiful beach San Juan...we made Bacardi House and Old San Juan tour....very nice Bahamas....made at private tour to the island and was very interesting Embarkation.....Port Everglade ....very fast no wait ,no line Debarkation......a little bit waiting about 20 min for USA travelers and long line and waiting time for non-USA. I recommended this ship but only a little problem you have to travel to Europe or South America ...they don't come back to USA on the next season is replaced for the new MSC Divina sailing all year from Miami

Absolutely fabulous! by jhickman321

Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was wonderful. Very classy. Everyone was very nice and attentive. We had read mixed reviews but decided to try for ourselves. We are so glad we did! We went with another family of 4 making our group a total of 8. We all liked the boat and would cruise with MSC again.

Enjoyed the Cruise by taniajean

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We felt this cruise was a good value. The price was right and the kids sail free was perfect. My kids enjoyed the kids club, and they welcomed our 6 year old with special needs into all of their activities. They simply gave us a pager to call us when she needed to use the potty. The dinners were great, wine selection was nice. The ship was clean. There was a wide array of international passengers, which we thought was great. My only complaint was that some of the crew and passengers were rude and ingnored our daughters special needs. For example, able bodied passengers, who would reach the elevator area well after we had arrived and pushed the button, would jump on the elevator as soon as the door opened leaving us to wait for the next elevator. A few crew members, specifically on excursions, would take off not realizing we had to wait for elevators and we would have to run to find them and catch up. Others in wheelchairs had special escorts for the drills, had priority in embarking, escort in embarking up the elevators, and help with movement on/off the ship but we did not receive any such treatment. There were not enough lounge chairs or pool deck space on pool level. Often, there were chairs on the next level up, but given that we could not use stairs and needed to be situated on the same level as the pool, that wasn't a realistic option for us. The rules clearly said no saving chairs for more than 30 minutes, but often chairs would be 'saved' for over 2 hours.

Interesting cruise by songstadva

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Cruise was pleasant and luxurious, altho sometimes seems food lacked variety. Since European ship announcements were in 6 languages which can be time-consuming, but understand need for such. RE visits to St. Maartens, Puerto Rico, and Nassau were disenchangting.

Average but there are better companies by jwsheehan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean

I picked this line only because of the theme cruise I wanted to participate in. That part was fantastic. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff was very plesant and helpfull. Food was never hot. Quality was average expecially if you've been on other cruise lines. Buffett closed down in the evening. I had a room in the back and the vibration from the engine (9th floor) was very appearent. Even in the Disco lounge on the 14th on the stern at times your drinks bounced around.

An Average Cruise by CharlesB6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

I felt that everything on this cruise was average, including the food. The cruise gave us the opportunity to relax and to see several parts of the Baltic area however, everything was average. I was surprised that the food in our dining room was not better, just average.

Not a wonderful cruise by EdN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

When we embarked it was fine and went downhill fast. In line for the food, people were walking through the food line in wet swim suits not nice. Found the breakfast juices in food line were watered down. The resturant juices very good. The one really good food were the scrambled eggs, really good. Evening dinner not so hot, twice we were served burned food, asked for another plate of the same and was burned and unable to eat it. Had to change meals at dinner two nights. I would never go on this cruise line again.A big waste of money. If this is the only choice, stay home.

MSC Poesia - very disappointing by Svnet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Review cruise MSC Poesia April 21st to April 30th. I would say disappointing... Me and my husband went on our first MSC cruise for 10 days, we are 32 and 39 years old and took our baby with 9 months. We had already cruised twice with Royal Caribbean. In spite of some bad reviews, we decided to give a chance and book with MSC, due to the itinerary, since it left from Lisbon, so we didn't had to took a plane with the baby. It started bad right before leaving: I've sent 2 emails via website with some doubts about the shore excursions, and I didn't receive any answer. The embarkation was very easy and fast, but no accompaniment and no information what so ever, we had to get in and find our way for ourselves, if we were first time cruisers we wouldn't know how to get around the ship and find the cabin and would have to call some crew member to assist... The ship is recent and with all the amenities one can expect. The staff is friendly and helpful, but its an Italian company, so there are many Italian, and we know that Italians can be a bit "difficult"... We also had some problems with the food... we really thought some of the critics could have been a little picky, but the fact is that this is not the kind, or even quality of food we were used to in the other cruises we have done with Royal Caribbean. In the first day we rejected immediately the food in the buffet style restaurant "Vila Pompeiana", and had all our meals in the main restaurant - Breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food wasn't excellent were either, but better than in the buffet, and we could have more to choose from. We had an Indonesian waiter: Suadnyana, that was very nice, and the head waiter was Croatian: Tomislav. They tried their best to provide us with the menu best dishes, but sometimes, it was really difficult... We had some bad meals and some good ones, we couldn't tell why there were some ups and downs, but we were really glad in the "bright days of the kitchen staff". The ice cream and the coffee were Italians and were excellent. Some days we didn't even bother to try the deserts, ice cream is always a safe choice. The other main problem we had, and its why we say "MSC never again", was the noise outside our cabin, a constant banging that started every day at 7:00 am, what a lousy daily wakening! I tried to know right in the first morning (Sunday) from our cabin attendant what was going on, and he said that he thought it were some maintenance work, that it should be finished in 2 or 3 days... But it didn't!. Wednesday I went to the reception complaining and they sent an officer to the cabin and hear/confirm the noise and said that they would try to find out the source. It continued every day, and Friday my husband went again to the reception to complain and another person came to the cabin to hear... We were very upset with this, including the fact that we had a nine months baby, with all the stress and that... Only Saturday we were offered to change cabins (we were leaving Monday) - and we had one last morning of peaceful wakening. And we received a call from the "supposed" guest relations manager (Italian), asking if everything was ok now... (!!??!) - they think that for offering a new cabin in the last day of our stay, that we were very happy, forgetting all the complaining we had, and all the different persons we had to talk to, and every day waking up with that awful noise...! - Of course things were not ok, and we were not happy with the way things happened and how we were treated... Anyway... Problems apart we manage to have a nice family vacation, and rest from work days. Looking forward for the next cruise but not on MSC

A fine time by Dennisb11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Our cabin on the tenth deck was quiet and had a lovely view. Friends living toward the stern complained of engine noise/vibration, so make sure you are at least mid-ships or forward. The cleaning staff are almost too efficient; the food was fine--though not the greatest--the amenities (gym, pools) are fine. We would have liked a statement from the navigation staff about daily position, depth, speed, etc, beyond what is cursorily provided by the on-board TV. We had to avoid certain places--one whole side of the pool deck, anywhere near the casino--because of cigarette smoke. It was clear people were smoking in their cabins, against the rules, because of the stench in some quarters.

Went on this ship with... by crystalka

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Poesia

Went on this ship with a friend. I wish that there was more food late night. We got stuck eating wrapped sandwiches. We did have a lot of fun, was difficult when we were docked and the ship was so quiet and we could hear all the partying on the ship docked behind us. I would still def go on more MSC ships as i do love them very much!
