A WONDERFUL cruise!!! by NickyR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean

The ship is soo beautiful, elegant and impeccable. The food was absolutely excellent! If you love the REAL Italian cuisine, you can enjoy it here in the Caribbean on the Poesia. No need to go all the way to Italy. I even appreciated the "5 languages translation" before the starting of the shows at the theater (which btw its very very impressive).I thought it was very considerate to all guests that are not mother tongue English speaking. The shows where the best I ever seen on a cruise. (I cruised with NCL and Royal Caribbean and what i saw on th ePoesia kicks butts!) Very, very entertaining, I enjoyed every minute of it. Some of the performers were so good they should go to the Olympics!! There were games and entertainment for all ages. After the theater we always went at the disco and around 3:00 in the morning when we were too exhausted to keep dancing! I appreciate the fact that when the ship docks at the port, it stays there all day long allowing the passengers enough time to do whatever they want to. I will definitely recommend this ship!

Worst cruise ever by Stephanie162390

The ship itself is very pretty. The staff spend much time cleaning it, to the point of ignoring the passengers

a nice cruise but some remarks by Jvp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

the checkin process was very expeditious but the overall impression was average. The food was average and the service was good. Lack of any lemonade type drinks for the kids was poor.

"Buyer Beware" by LuannE45923147

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Bermuda

This cruiseline is definitely for people over the age of 65 . We had young children with us and we were made to feel like we did not belong there. They sure do cater to the old folks but really do not care if the younger ones are happy or not. The food was for the most part tasteless and nothing special. Our waiter did not speak english and did not follow our requests at all. Our cabin steward did not give us clean towels every day ;folded up the used ones and put them back in the towel racks. Drinks were expensive. excursions were also expensive and not worth the price.

Pack your own food. by CherylK5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We sailed for 7 days and the only food that was any good was the pizza on the buffet line. There were minimum 30 minute queues for lunch buffets, and the food on the buffet was terrible. The food in the menu restaurants was equally terrible. Consulted ~25 random cruisers and everyone had the same opinion.

A bad cruise by DonnaJ1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my first cruise on an msc cruise ship. It was a very pretty ship but the crew was very hard to communicate with, the also seemed very indifferent to the people on the ship. and most could not speak english.when asked where something was many said I do not know. being an italian ship I was looking forward to great italian food,. It was very bad food, the steaks were pretty good, there was no variaty of food always the same thing,Most of the people at my table returned their food for something else. some more than once.. MUCH food was waisted,. the dishes were returned with most of the food on them. the layout was fine, on one deck the ally way threw the cabin areas smelled strong with sewer. Vacumes and buckets of dirty water were in the ally ways. my room was kept clean and nice., the activities were for people who drank life fish and wanted to dance, the pool( 1) pool on the ship. was always full.you could not even get a drink of water without paying for it.. I have been on other ships where I was felt welcome. I did not feel that on this ship, I will not take another msc ship at this time.

Stick with what U know by MardeeK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was beautiful..They seem to cater to Europeans. it wasn't what we were used to. Had nothing to do while at sea. No music playing by the pool. You could smoke on board but didn't put out ash trays until 7am. Not a happy crew,.Had to find a person to get a drink. Our cabin cleaners were the only people who smiled and were friendly. The cafeteria was very unorganized. People standing forever in lines.

I felt like I was an annoyance by NeilM2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

There is a major language problem for English speaking customers and the crew seemed bothered by questions, often responding quite curtly without answers or helpful information. The staff seemed unmotivated and angry so shipboard activities (that were minimal to begin with) lacked energy and enthusiasm. Other ships have crews that are anxious to be helpful, jovial and astute at enticing customer participation in funful events they hosted while crusing along. Deck chairs were put away at 4 pm and the pools closed by 7pm

It wasn't such a wonderful cruise. by SandyE45118117

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was the worst cruise I've ever been on. My money was stolen from my room. The way I was treated after loosing my money was worst than loosing the money itself. The manager told me that they will investigate but she knows that they will not find anything. She made me feel like I was lying. The whole staff wasn't very friendly. You could tell that they were faking by trying to be nice. I don't know if it's because of the color of my skin I was treated that way. I will never cruise with MSC Poesia.

"Worst cruise ever " by MichaelG15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The cruise is for European elders. Neat at first o hear someone speak five different languages,, then it gets old fast. Language barrier everywhere on the ship with personel. Kids club is a huge joke. Pool closes at 6:00 PM. Nothing to do with the kids then. The shows are okay but are not for kids. Cigarette smell everywhere on the ship. The food is weird and not very good. Bottom line is "if you are from Italy and want to sail, then this cruise line is for you."

Great Cruise, on the MSC Poesia by Mel92370588

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We just loved the Poesia, but we choose the early sitting and it was too early, and late diiner was too late. Prefered freestyle offered on other cruise lines, which we had done on the last three cruises. Some of the staff especially at dinner did not smile but the waiters did as we had a two of the best.

Not that great by ShelbyL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Well, the boat was immaculate, clean..spotless. You could eat off the walls, floor, ect. But I really didnt pay for that. The entertainment sucked, We went to bed at 10 o clock everynight with nothing to do. The food was on mediocore, except for one formal night they had lobster and filet and it was great. But other than that the food was just OkAY. the people on the ship were RUDE! You coudlnt get anything you wanted or asked for. We called to ask what was for dinner, our room being on the 11th floor. the women said for us to go walk and see for ourselves and hung up..how much money fif we pay?? They couldnt give me another number to call? Or call and find out and call back. on the night before disembarkment, we went to reception and asked to borrow a pen, and the women said NO only one pen per receptionist, nothing i can do..go to gift shop and buy one. 12 dollars!!! for a pen, we marched up there and said you mean to tell us that theres only 3 pens on this whole ship??? needless to say we snatched the pen out of her hand and said send us the bill!!!!!! It was outrageous, the most rude, and arrogant people I've ever met. And my boyfriends been on royal carribean and said theyd lick the dirt off your shoes if it would make you happy...So I know that you CAN get service..but MSC doesnt have it!!!!!!!

Relaxing Cruise by DebbieM20

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Poesia is a beautiful ship. The cabins are updated with energy efficient ques to put your key. It also tells the steward if you are in your cabin. The staff are pleasant but most do not speak very good English. You will need to approach the staff for conversation. The staff are very friendly after that. You get the feeling that you are in Europe due to the guest population. The food is plentiful, but very bland and generic. I could not wait to try food at the ports of call-looking for flavor. Avoid any cabins on deck 12. Our balcony cabin was right under the cafeteria with wooden floors and chairs that echoed in our cabin for every meal. The early mornings are the worst-bring earplugs-they helped out with other noises as well. If you like the disco and other dancing activities, get your nap in. The disco does not even start until after 11:30 PM and the other bars and lounges offer only light music. MSC is new to marketing the United States guests. They have been a very popular cruise lines for Europe, which is why there are so many Europeans and Canadians guests on board. As long as you do not compare this cruise lines with another, you will enjoy the European flair that MSC has to offer.
