Great group vacation! we all loved it :) by whynot80

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We were a large group with children (different ages: 5-7 year old kids and adolescents). we were so excited of that experience, we all enjoyed our time onboard (so many things to do, children never got bored, the staff was professional and trustworthy, the rooms were clean, the food was delicious). We chose this itinerary because it seemed to be interesting, with varied destinations and that is exactly what we got: archaeological sites, must dos, trendy spots, a medieval town and a completely unknow country (Albania) which amazed us so much! will definitely choose MSC again, for our next cruise vacation!

If you want your vacations... by cruise2018Eu

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Poesia

If you want your vacations to be ruined ask any crew member from MSC Poesía for anything. Do yourself a favor and have dinner at the buffet rather than in Il Palladio. Better yet, book in Norwegian rather than in MSC

Amazing Venice & Adriatic Cruise by Yvonne30

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

A never-to-be-forgotten experience. Will do it again when we've saved up enough money. A great ship. Great staff. Visited great places with a nice mixture of history and relaxation. We were a family made up of three generations from 14 to 71. Everyone had a tremendous time.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Didn't really know what to expect from a cruise but we had really lovely week. Would recommend anyone to try at least one. Oct was a good time to cruise as the weather was mid 20's so not too hot.

An excellent adventure by DrLBP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia

A lovely cruise around the eastern med, Albania was a real highlight. Bari was lovely, we went for a wander around the town and had lunch, Athens was disappointing however the Parthenon was great to see. Dubrovnik was very very hot and quite over crowded, but well worth a visit.

Honeymoon Cruise by ChelleM

We had a great time! The sites were awesome. We primarily chose MSC because of the locations - I am not sure if we would choose MSC if other cruises offered a similar itinerary.

I like MSC. We choosed... by thecruisepics

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Poesia

I like MSC. We choosed the Aurea? I really liked it, for us where no obligatory seating in the restaurant. We arrived whenever we wanted. Aurea give us the opportunity to visit the spa for free and also free drinks. All the ports is great. In Bari we took the road train, it was very cheap and we've got guide as well in the ticket price. St Nicholas tomb and the church simply amazing. Next day our Port was Katakolon. We took a taxi to Olympia. That was great, but pretty much crowded in the entrance (half an hour queuing). The same taxi took me Next day Mykonos. Tender boat was great. Docked in the very heart of the town. But the island were very windy. Next stop Piraeus. We took a one day taxi ride. Great. Less than 100 euro. The diver showed me the main attractions of the metropolis. Certainly the Akropolis is the most symbolic and important sight of the town. You need at least two hours to check around that place. Next day Sarande. Better to stay on the ship. Nothing to see nothing to visit, but Albania 🇦🇱. Next day Dubrovnik. You will love it. But the old town is great. Amazing city. By that time You will 🎶 sing loud: It's time to say goodbye, paesi che non ho mai. Defenetly the last evening You will cry as well so nice the port of Dubrovnik. Next morning wake up early and greet the most beautiful town of the Mediterranean: Venice. So that was MSC Poesia. One week Italy in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Nice time, need to work on dinner menus by ametzger61686

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

They need to revamp customer service for excursions. Rude is all I can say. They need to give guides with microphones so we can hear if you are a little bit behind... everything was rushed.... I was very upset that so many things on the boat were not included. The cleaning charge was outrageous, I've never had that in all the cruises I have been on!

Substandard by ClaudetteM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We sailed on MSC Poesia June 17-24,2017. Entertainment onboard was good, from all lounge bands to production shows. No comedy show was offered I'm guessing as there were many different languages onboard.

Embarkation process was too long.  We had to stand in line to drop off luggage, another line to register, another line for security, another line for picture. We then had to get our card from room stewart then go wait in line to activate it.  In past experiences on other cruise lines we lines up once to do all this.

Food. No wow factor even substandard selection and quality. Salads And pasta were not even good. If you wanted lobster on gala night 21 euros extra.

buffet lines were not organized and hand sanitizer was not endorsed and often empty. They were always sections closed which caused congestion and so many people.  We wanted to grab a cookie and we're told we had to wait until 5:00. It was 4:50.  Really?

Excursions- not impressed. Not alot of info was given on the description and itinerary was not really explained for the day. Getting off the boat was often kaotic and very congested. For one port where we were on our own we were told it was a 25 minute drive into the city so we paid msc for the bus ride 13.90eruos. It was 25 minutes there however it was only a 5 minute bus ride back to the ship- felt deceived.

Customer service- nothing stands out. Wasn't bad, but wasn't great

I would never sail with MSC again and would not recommend them

MSC Poesia by westbait

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Cabin and ship were both great. Restaurant and general staff great. However after paying top money got balcony cabin was most disappointed how MSC charges for Everything. (Plus a surcharge of 15 per cent on on drinks ) ships communication was bad, excursions and shuttles over priced, it was cheaper to hire a can for three hours between four than use ships rip off excursions. Food was ordinary in buffet, restaurant food was boring and too small. Management seems more interested in emoting your pocket than helping make your cruise enjoyable. Over 50 people we spoke to felt the same, and like us will never cruise with MSC again. Most unhappy. Cruising should be fun not stressful. Everything on the ship is an added cost to your cruise. Be prepared, we spent modestly and spent over 650 euros.

Not up to expectations by Gag023

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean

We took a 14 night Caribbean  cruise in January 17 beginning from Barbados. Iglu arranged for us to arrive the night before and stay in a hotel and then a taxi to the ship. We arrived at the ship at noon and they kindly arranged for us to be met and taken on board earlier than the arranged arrival time.  Our cabin was nice and met our expectations, the restaurant, bar and cabin staff were also wonderful. We did find the customer relations staff to not be too helpful, we are still unclear if this was a language/culture barrier or plain rudeness ! The ship is organised for a 7 day turnaround - so all shows and menu repeat every 7 days - which spoilt the experience for people on a longer trip. At every port there were passenger changes (which we had never experienced before) which meant frequent safety drills in numerous languages over the loudspeakers lasting 15-30 mins.  The food was mediocre, in most cases lacking flavour. 2nd sitting did not start until 9-9.15 which was later than informed at booking. Eating this late did not aid digestion. Hygiene was poorer than previous cruises with hand wash gels limited, broken and rarely used . We were all ill at some point with a flu like stomach virus resulting in days where one of us stayed in the cabin missing days ashore.  As a result of this experience we would not use MSC again nor recommending them to others.

Cruise Line did not honor its promotion by love2cruiseAlot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Ship is nice. Staff ok. All European passengers stick only with people of same countries. Food is not barely edible if you eat at the top deck restaurant. Ok in main restaurant. Cruise line did not honor the promotion I received at time of booking. Very disappointed.
