Not my best cruise by Luvmyamstaff

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

There were multiple problems with this cruise. So much so the Captain refunded $300 to every cabin. They honestly tried to compensate us which I am grateful for. A cruise is what you make it, I enjoy the sea.

Never again.,!!!!!! by blueboy14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

Extremely disappointing, MSC shops have glitz and glamour but underneath all that they don't really care. They distressed and endangered passengers on this cruise with there incompetence to manage the Customs situation. They do get some aspects right, this was a glitzy beautiful ship, but a little less glitter and focus of its passengers not just the Yacht clubbers, and would be a better if not as profitable route to take.

Unique ports for a transatlantic cruise. by nadine30040

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Transatlantic

We had rough sea, but were lucky to have nice weather in the ports. Ship is too big for us, embarkation and disembarkation takes too long.

The only cruise where we lost weight by akinom2747

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Transatlantic

The worst cruise we have ever been on, everything costs extra old movies at ÂŁ7.00 . Between U.K. and Iceland we got bbc news, after that nothing no daily headlines news , every day when asked it was tomorrow, not enough seating in the main parts of the ship, library is a joke around 50 books but nothing much in English, the only free entertainment during the day was dance lessons for the fit people or craft classes, never sen so many people buying packs of cards at the Casino.

Ports of call were nice, the ship is all glitz and little substance. Not impressed with MSC.

Too big for our taste by JanneN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Transatlantic

The ship is beautifull with a modern decor inside but is much too big for us. No free shuttle buses in Belfast or Reykavik. The Thermal spa is "Inside" and without a nice sea view. It also lacks body lotions. The public areas for relaxation inside with a view was to few.

Sadly not up to scratch by Millys36

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

The ship is stunning and the itinerary was great. MSC is a cruise line that is missing key ingredients in the activities department with it catering in the main for those wanting to dance. It also lacked ability in creating an atmosphere of fun. It was value for money (cruise itself) and we added the premium plus drinks package which we also got our value from. We loved our excursions (booked separately and not with MSC) and are cruising with MSC again in March around carribean on the Preziosa (was already booked before we did this cruise) so hoping that the sun will make a difference and give MSC another chance to wow us. But so far that's not been the case, although we did have a great time overall.

The Ship in the Ship-concept is a good idea by Earl1609

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Transatlantic

It is a big ship, one of the newest from MSC, with a bis Led-Sky and 100 meters Shopping mall. So it not a traditional cruise ship, it’s a ship to have fun, meets people in the mall and to test some new restaurants in the mall on two decks.

Although just a short 3 night cruise it was great value - especially being a solo traveller. Great port of call in Copenhagen and then a relaxing but active sea day becore arriving in Southampton

Cruise was great, weather a little chilly. Ship is very beautiful that I wish we could have enjoyed the outer spaces better. Staff overall really nice, met several bartenders that were really friendly. Wasnt super crazy about MDR dining choices. Some nights menu just didnt seem all that great.

The best ever experience on MSC Meraviglia by happyngrateful

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

I’ve never been on a cruise ship; I do not know if and when I’ll be making another trip. But as a first-time experience, MSC completely bowled me (and my family) over. We boarded the ship with so much apprehension, but we came back a happy lot. We have such gratitude and appreciation in our hearts – for all the people on board – who took such great care of us, and ensured that every moment we spent on the ship was enjoyable and memorable! Thank you MSC Meraviglia for providing us with memories of a lifetime! P.S. No, I’m not a PR person for MSC, nor do I have any vested interests in the company. I’m a normal 9-5 marketing professional, trying to get through life, and trying to make memories along the way! ~The more you are thankful, the more you attract things to be thankful for~

Best cruise until now by korpo024

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

This was our 7th cruise, and 5th with MSC. This was the best MSC ship we were on! We loved the Meraviglia! All aspects of the ship we loved (only the beds were a little hard). Especially on rainy days this ship has a lot to offer...we will be back on this ship or her sisters!

Great family adventure by Copentravelcom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

It was a family getaway. We had lots of fun overall. Bonding and laughing creating memories. But we aren't too fussy of a family. 😊 We will return a year later but for 2 weeks instead of 1 and in a different cabin type.

Dreadful Cruiseline by JonathanGardine

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

MSC sells premium cruise packages and then fills the ship with people travelling on €300 vacations. The result is that they are constantly chasing revenue by trying to sell things. I was down graded from my original restaurant “Olivio Oro” to “Waves” which was an absolute gong show. Our server was in over his head and offended everyone at the table by pre pouring the house wine under the assumption we had no drinks packages. Then when we asked for other wines told us we couldn’t have them. The food was horrible. Indescribably bland and his service so slow that they were flashing the lights on and off to hurry us along as we received our main course. Olivio Oro was a vast improvement once we were moved back two days later. Even at Dinner they’re trying to sell you specialty drinks (even though my package covered them). Photographers herd you towards their cameras while you politely decline until you actually have to say NO loudly, even at dinner. Staff members couldn’t speak English and refused to find me someone else to speak to, I am multilingual but don’t speak Italian. I asked for a manager and was told “she’s busy.” I ended up spending two days trying to rectify a problem that could have been fixed in minutes. Surly staff and incorrect room service orders, and overcrowded public areas, chaos at ports of call and a litany of other irritations just added up to a very poor experience.

The ship is really nice.... by LucaWSV

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

The ship is really nice. There are so many things to do... But there are a lot of things that are really bad: -Welcome back cocktail: We got an invitation for the welcome back cocktail with the Captain which was planned for 11 AM. We arrived at 10:30 and we're already able to sit down in the bar after the crew checked our cards. 5 minutes later one if the managers came and kicked us out of the bar because they still had to do some preparation. At 11 AM we were able to get in the bar again after they have changed absolutely nothing. Than the manager said that the captain isn't able to come and that a new ship is build at the moment. THAT IT WAS!!! -Safety drill: Before the safety drill we saw on the safety channel that we don't need to bring our cruise card if we have an MSC for me bracelet. So did we. When the crew wanted to scan our card (which we didn't have with us) they said they need our card. After some discussion they said that it is okay. 50 minutes later they began with telling how the lifejacket work in FIVE!!! different languages. We never saw our own lifejacket because they are at the assembly station but nobody told us... - Everything is 18+: A lot of things are 18+ for example: -Karaoke ,-Quiz ,-The absolute top location of the ship The problem is that you can't see it anywhere before your cruise and even if you could this still is pure discrimination - Disembarking: At MSC you get an sticker for your luggage and your cruise card with a certain color. Than you get told when you have to be at Wich place to leave the ship with a small group of people. So did we... We were in the Casino at 10:40 (we had to be there at 10:45) at 11:05 I decided to ask at the reception why nobody is coming. There they told me that our group already left and we should just leave the ship too. -Excursion: We made 2 excursions in ST. Petersburg and the first one was the worst I ever made. The information about the excursion was that we will explore the metro system of the city and spend some time at the nicest market hall if the city and can try some things there. After that we make a photo stop at a cathedral. What actually happened: We spended 2 hours in the metro system where the guide told us to be careful EVERYTIME there were stairs... And said every 20 seconds to be careful with the doors of the trains... Well, she got a point there because if the doors close you can do nothing about it. 6 People tried to stop a door from closing Wich didn't work, so somebody got lost. Then the guide wanted to know if everybody is still there but forgot how many people we are, so we just left. After that we went to the market hall where the guide told to not to buy anything because the quality is very bad... We had 15 minutes minutes time. Some people tried to use the toilet but was impossible to use it.. it was just a hole in the ground with an 1 meter high door. And at the end of course we haven't done the photo stop. As you can see there are a lot of bad things. Bad at this point I also want to mention that a lot of things are great. For example the partys and most of the normal staff.. I want to give special thanks to Asman and Septian Sektadi which were just great. All in all I think this was my last MSC cruise in the next time...

After a week on MSC... by jaybee79a

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

After a week on MSC Fantasia Last Year without children we gave it a try and took our son (7) with us on the short 3 night/4 days trip 13-16.04.2019. He had a lot of fun in the kids club (he was in the one for 7-11 year old children), so we had a lot of time to enjoy the cruise. The flight simulator was a bit too scary for him as it's easily possible to turn ourselves upside down, so we did lots of the other video games and bowling. It was a pitty that F1 simulator is only allowed over 1.6m hight, he was looking forward to race but was disappointed he wasn't allowed to. Even if the cruise wasn't as smooth as the one in Summer last year seasickness was no problem for him at all. We enjoyed the luxury in the YC Deluxe suite and all the amenities that came with the YC package. The only thing that really went wrong was the booking for the Cirque du Solail show: hours before the start we were contacted and told that the show is full and offered the late show. We had to cancel that because we thought it would have been to late for our son to enjoy. We got refunded that later but in the next cruise we'll have the bookings checked twice by the staff.
