Review summary

The worst cruise we have ever been on, everything costs extra old movies at £7.00 . Between U.K. and Iceland we got bbc news, after that nothing no daily headlines news , every day when asked it was tomorrow, not enough seating in the main parts of the ship, library is a joke around 50 books but nothing much in English, the only free entertainment during the day was dance lessons for the fit people or craft classes, never sen so many people buying packs of cards at the Casino.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Organised with over 4000 people boarding

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Market place food was ok nothing startling, however hygiene was very poor, tables got rarely cleaned, food particles just got swept on the floor with a napkin, we went to Circe de soleil, food was great service excellent, specialty restaurant over priced you got the steak but had to pay extra for side dishes, husband has a tomato allergy, I told the waiter but there was a grilled one with his steak, seats where wiped down then the tables and again bread crumbs etc, ended up on the floor

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
All activities where very expensive for what they are

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Broadway shows where good, loved the idea of booking a seat, which meant you always got one without having to be there really early.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Cabin steward was good, restaurant staff where stressed not enough of them, plenty of gentlemen in white jackets who manly just stood talking amongst themselves, we had a drinks package to get service was very hard, waited one morning over 30 minutes for a coffees had to get them myself in the end, tables took ages to have dirty dishes taken away, dirty tables just put me off my food,

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Common area where clean , took a couple of days to find our way around that was Just because of the size of the ship

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Great cabin for 2 we also had a pullout couch if that was in use there would be very little room to move and not enough wardrobe space,

Ship tip

Have loads of cash in the bank because you pay for loads of stuff if you want to use the bowling ally cinema etc.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England

Belfast, Northern Ireland

Reykjavik, Iceland

5 out of 5
We took a tour, manly because the buses into Reykjavik where very expensive they said it would be a 30 minute bus ride into the city, totally incorrect I did the same trip 2 years ago and it was a 20 minute walk.

ST. JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK, CANADA

5 out of 5
Yes really enjoyed it

Halifax, Nova Scotia

4 out of 5

New York, New York

5 out of 5
All passengers had to desembark in New York it was a a terrible shambles, not all the fault of MSC, again not enough staff to assist people with disabilities or requiring any sort of help.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
The worst ever experienced, we booked a tour with a drop off at JFK airport, where given green disembarking tickets, then I found another sett in our cabin no.2 blue dots, on inquiring at reception, yes these are your new tickets use them , in the morning at the designated time we went to the meeting point, not one MSC person there, found someone after a while was told to just get off the ship go to the buses, but because they changed the time from 7.45 to 9.15 we missed our excursion and ride to JFK , one off the bus drivers took pity on us and took us on board, husband is disabled and we are both over 70. Not good enough

I was on same ship just before you. There were quizzes as well as dance lessons and crafts. Our waiter in one of the L'olive restaurants was good and yes there were quite a few head waiters. Breakfast in the Panorama restaurant was painfully slow. But entertainment team made it for me
