We decided to give MSC another try just to give it a fair chance. I don't foresee us sailing with them again. It just isn't the right choice for us.

Scheduled arrival time was noon,we arrived at 11:30, waited in four different lines until 3:30 until we finally boarded. About an hour and a half outside line,1 hour security line, then another check in line, then you wait for boarding group to be called in a tiny waiting area with 400 ppl and 50 chairs.

We really enjoyed buffet, always had something good on carving stations.plus they have the best pizza and Cesar salads at sea. We tried going to Hola Taco's for lunch one day but we're told we needed reservations "said they were booked solid for lunch and dinner for two days" even tho there was only one couple in there and remained nearly empty the rest of cruise.

We really enjoyed the House of Houdini, thought it was one of the better shows at sea that I have seen. We pre-purchashed drink and tickets for show. Was told "you find out reservation time at time of embarkation" nobody knew anything about it. So we checked MSC and me App and said we were scheduled to see the show first night of cruise. So we get to venue and lady checking people in says "you don't have a reservation" I try to show her on app that is says that we do, she says that you still have to call and make reservations even tho the app shows you have a reservation. So the app is completely useless. She finally lets us in and there is probably only 30 people in the venue,less than 1/4 capacity of venue.
Service and Staff

We were shocked by how rude staff was compared to what we experienced on the Davina. Room steward was a jerk,had to ask for hand soap,TP ect. Then on second to last day of cruise he locked us out of mini bar and left all of our drinks/snacks on counter.

Ship was absolutely spotless, constantly cleaning common areas.
Cabin / Stateroom

Big room,smallest bathroom I have ever seen. There was a horrible sewage smell coming from shower drain that was never fixed with multiple calls to service desk
Ship was late getting back to port, room steward kept asking "when are you leaving room" gangway wasn't even attached yet. So fed up we leave room about 8AM and go down to stand in line for "Express Debarkation" there was a line from main dining room all the way to other end of ship with multiple switchbacks and wrap arounds. Got off ship at 9:30.
Some things never change. I totally believe your experience about the app, reservations, and not being allowed in the empty venue because they said they were "packed". That perfectly defines MSC. I thought the crew were mostly nice though.
