Review summary

Overall experience full of way too much time spent getting our dinner times at our restaurant for the time stated on our itinerary. Dint know if dropped the ball on that one as our party of 6 dinner times varied or not sitting at the same table. With the exception of our room steward and wait staff at dinner who were excellent,I found most others to be rude. I understand the weather was bad for half of our cruise but found this trip to be a big disappointment overall.

Embarkation

buffet and main dining room were good but nothing to write home about. did not do any specialty restaurants

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
did fitness center when I could get in, outdoor track

Entertainment

4 out of 5
watched 3 shows the best being the Rock Show

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
with the exception being our room steward and the waiters at dinner who were great, I found dealing with other staff difficult.and felt like I was invisible waiting to get a drink at the bar.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
the couch had seen its better days but overall it was clean

Ship tip

cancel

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
arrived at port Canaveral day of the cruise

Cozumel, Mexico

2 out of 5
weather was terrible the day at Cozumel, Excursions cancelled I have been to Cozumel before and is a nice place.

Belize City, Belize

2 out of 5
getting off the ship on a tender that day was a total disaster partly due to the weather but a big part belongs to MSC.by the time we got off ship we only had one hour onshore

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
was the best Port of Call on the trip, we gave up trying to book an excursion just shopped

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

3 out of 5
it is a beautiful place but the lines for food were outrageously long and I felt invisible ordering drinks at the bars on Ocean Cay. We went back to ship to eat and drink. could not even find a t shirt as the few stores on shore were poorly stocked

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
it went well

Weather can really throw a curve into a cruise's operation, including skipped ports, extra sea days, and rough waters. It's part of the adventure. We've sailed the Caribbean in August {our Anniversary month) with higher heat and humidity and greater risk of hurricanes and tropical storms and haven't had a diversion or delay. This year it will be an April sailing.
