Lovely holiday by Tanniam123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Fantastic holiday, staff help make it, but we did feel uncomfortable in buffet sometimes. There are many supervisors walking checking that staff are clearing tables quickly, however there are times when it’s extremely busy, especially when Everyone heads for food when arriving Back on ship, but the supervisors constantly point at dirty tables reminding staff to clear them when they already rushed off their feet, it would be good to see the supervisors ( wearing white jackets) muck in & help clear tables, as though they are part of the same team instead of being above them. It does make you feel a bit awkward when you can see they are trying their best. But having said that crew in every other department were really good, apart from Italian pizza bar, for some reason our group ( party of 6 adaults) our face didn’t fit & others were constantly being served every night before us even though we were there first, we met for drink there whilst waiting for our restaurant to relay tables for our 8.30 sitting. I’m an early riser and watched the sun rise quite a few times and around 7am there were always staff cleaning the top deck, even polishing the brass on the front of the deck steps, very thorough at cleaning first thing in morning, but maybe could do with a few extra waiters clearing decks when at sea days, a few days it was a very busy & a bit windy, so there were cans rolling around on deck cause not cleaned up, passengers didn’t return glasses or plates etc to bars, so decks became quite dirty by early afternoon with glasses not being cleared away. After those few negative comment, we really did have a lovely holiday, top deck bar crew defiantly help make it a brilliant time for us, would use MSC again in a group.

MAGNIFICIENT DIVINA by affrigina

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our Maiden cruise. Beautiful memories with top class food/entertainment/service/staff all rolled in one. No complaints at all except for the shortage of time at Bahamas. Our cruise ship was on time at every port. Would love it if you could increase the time at every port though. Not sure why icecream was not part of the dessert at the buffet counter. The ice cream station outside is not the very best so some flavours at the buffet counter would be great.

MSC Divina was Awesome! by Perfectfun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a group of 12 and everyone had a great time and are ready to book again on the MSC Divina or Seaside. All of my group except my husband and I were first time cruisers. I think I created cruise monsters now...lol Everyone said they will book with me again through Perfect Getaways LLC. This ship and cruise line was amazing!

Somewhat Disappointing Caribbean Cruise by RobinWig

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were disappointed with the food and entertainment compared to what we've had with other cruise lines. We also brought our family on their first cruise and would have liked them to have had a better food and entertainment first experience.

Loved everything about this ship!... by JillRenee

Loved everything about this ship! Loved taking Italian class, the shows were amazing, the antipasto bar is delicious, gelato was yummy, definitely try the dessert bar and being handed a cool towel and drink on the dock after a hot hot day ashore sealed our love!

We just arrived home from... by Need2cruisefamily

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

We just arrived home from our 7 day western carribean cruise on the Divina. It's a very glitzy ship, and seems to have been designed to catch your eye in every aspect of it. The ship itself while a little choppy in layout I would give a solid 5 stars. The reason for 3 stars, the crew. most we moderately nice, nothjing outstanding. Bar staff were very bland, just take your drink and move on type. I feel because of the promotions most had with this cruise on drinks. Our room steward was not good at all, no out out animals for the kids, couldn't remember their names, and we were always having to ask to have the kids bed put out. Then the rules and regulations with timing in the main dining room. With port days until 530, trying to squeeze enough time to do your shore excursions and make it to 1st seating with 2 children was tough as if you're 17 minutes late they have no issues sending you to the buffet to ingest 8 trillion mg of salt. This same issue is encountered with all meals in the main dining room, we always felt like we were rushed doing other things to get there to eat in fear of being turned away. I mean yes it's clearly posted of the serving times but traveling with kids it becomes a hassle of making the strict "curfews". Then lastly not enough communication from the cruise director or anyone for that matter. Any other cruises I've been on they were announcing activities and reminders throughout the day, on here make sure you have your daily guide readily available to find out what's going on or you will miss a lot of fun activities. I would cruise again with them, but just won't go in with high expectations. I always felt on edge and couldn't relax making sure I kept up with the activities and time. I like that about NCL, it's a freestyle cruise line and they don't have many holding you back stipulations.

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

This was my First Cruise with MSC! The MSC Divina was Very Impressive when we boarded her! The Beauty Surrounded you from All Sides! Just so Impressive! It didn't stop their the Main Dinning Room was Beautiful and the Food was Excellent! Our Waitress and Her Staff was Great! Our Cabin Stewart was Great also! The shows where Pierre Opera! The buffet was a little disappointing, compared to Carnival. The pools & hot tubs where Great! In general I would do this ship again! Hopefully the Buffet and the Officers will improve!

Fantastic boat Our first cruise so... by alanc99

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

Fantastic boat Our first cruise so nothing to compare it against. We went for a balcony cabin, which was spacious and very comfortable , exceeding our expectations. Bed was very comfortable. The main dining area was good , not great , but good , reasonable food, presented well in pleasant surroundings with a nice atmosphere. The food in the buffet was very good with an excellent choice. Also the sports bar served lovely burgers and chicken wings which were a pleasant change towards the end of the week. The shows were quite good although we went to the "Queen" show and thought it was awful, and that seemed to be the general consensus. So come on MSC , the show must NOT go on. ! The bar areas and entertainment in the bars was very good. We enjoyed the black and white bar immensely. The entertainment staff were excellent, very engaging. Embarking and disembarking was very good, simple and effortless with little delays. Some of the staff are quite grumpy at times and on a couple of occasions I witnessed full blown arguments between staff members. In saying that were also plenty of pleasant friendly staff, who easily outnumbered their less pleasant colleagues. So overall this was an excellent baptism for us and we will definitely sail with MSC again

This was a real deal and a delighful cruise! Would recomend it to everyone! by zecarlos

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

In spite of the itinerary change 1 week before departure, we were expecting this to happen. The ship is really very beatiful, the animation, the food, the staff, the facilities, the service, all... VERY GOOD! I do not really understand those who make lots of critics and complaints on this , and that. Even though it is my 2.nd cruise, I have travelled a lot and i´ve seen and experienced many hotels and places around the world; I consider this one of my TOP 3 holiday experiences. The shows are outstanding ! Captain Marco Massa and the crew kept us informed all the time and are aimed to please. The international feel aboard is awesome: not only the crew, but also the passangers are from everywhere, you feel there is a part of each place on earth aboard. I really recomend MSC Divina to everyone!

This was my third sailing... by MrCodieJoe

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

This was my third sailing on the Divina. I’m truly going to miss it when it leaves. Besides a few issues like overall food quality and staff motivation/levels we had a great cruise. Still giving it a 5 Star because this cruise line definitely deserved it. Thank you again MSC. Cannot wait for Seaside in 2018!

Customer service is definitely lacking... by Ketelonequeen

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

Customer service is definitely lacking on this cruise line. The ship itself is absolutely beautiful and elegant at every turn. 10 of us cruising ranging in age from 32-71 and ALL of us were in agreement on everything. 2nd time on this ship for 4 of us. Price and itinerary is why we picked the cruise for a return visit. However, due to Hurricane Irma, the itinerary was changed and actually added and extra port at no extra charge. The food this time seemed to be better, but we also did specialty dining which we prepaid before hand. Did eat at the buffet for snacks and lunch some days and that also seemed better than last time. Didn't visit the MDR for dinner till the last day and that was a disaster. Food was bland and even though the dining room was pretty empty, it seemed to take forever to get simple things... we like Tabasco and there always seemed to be one lonely bottle every morning for breakfast that had to be tracked town and would always be taken away to be given to someone else before we even used it. Found that odd. Ice was also scarce in your drink weather it be for cocktails, water or soda. Think that's a European thing since my FIL is from England and he's not a fan of ice. I think everyone in our party actually spent more time at guest services for one reason or another the first 3 days. Silly things too... cards wouldn't work(several times) internet connection issues, etc. The internet on the ship is only really good if you are in public spaces. In the cabin it takes forever to connect and then you get bumped for whatever reason. I actually picked up wifi from a carnival ship in a port one day BEFORE I could connect to the Divina. I know... I'm on vacation. Why do I need the internet.... because I have things to do, banking and other things. It's my vacation right? First sea day in one of the bars was a mess. Only 2 bartenders doing double duty and got orders wrong and really had a hard time understanding what we were asking for. Finally someone made a phone call to another crew member and within and hour they had more staff. Now for the ports. Costa maya was hot as hell and a small port area for 3 ships. Didn't have an excursion since itinerary change was made 6 days before sailing and being I live in south FLA and dealing with the hurricane I didn't have time to look at one. But we got off the boat and walked around for an hour or so. Went back to the pool on the boat. Will probably look into excursions next time. Grand cayman is a tender port and we have been there enough. Montego Bay was great. Rented a bus for all of us and were taken to a local place called Peppas. A tiki hut with outdoor seating and an amazing view. The food was the absolute best! Really nice people. And Nassau is Nassau if you have ever been. Anyway, like I said... small silly things. Not enough to ruin our vacation as that's what it is and what we all needed after dealing with hurricane madness. Definitely want to try the seaside when it comes but won't pass up the divina if the price is right.

I loved everything about this... by mamagale

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

I loved everything about this cruise! I have no desire to ever sail with any other cruise line although I would like to check out the new ship MSC will be introducing later this year. Divina is a huge ship & I lost my bearings several times, but always found crew willing to help me get where I wanted to go, often walking me there personally! I had read so many negative reviews about MSC and honestly, I just do not get it! My stateroom (Interior cabin #13176) was always spotless. Each time I returned to it I had clean towels and the bed was remade. Initially I had an issue with the safe (no charge to use it) which was quickly & easily resolved. The food was good, I didn't like everything I tried, but I was able to try new things & there was always plenty & a good variety of things I did like, so trust me, I didn't go hungry! Our initial itinerary was changed due to the hurricanes & I liked the new one even better than the original! Montego Bay, Jamaica was really fun. Georgetown, Grand Cayman was lovely. We took cheap transport to the beach at Costa Maya, Mexico & had a fantastic day! I skipped the port at Nassau because I wanted to chill & just relax the last day on board and I had a great "me day". There were always plenty of activities scheduled throughout the day and evening onboard & the evening entertainment in the Pantheon theater was always top notch & fast paced. Reymond & Anna were top notch in the garden bar & pool area (adults only) and we never went thirsty! The only things lacking were so minor as to hardly be worth mentioning, but I will anyway. The only clock I could find onboard was on the outside deck on 7. I don't wear a watch & didn't want to carry my phone everywhere so catching up with the rest of my gang was sometimes challenging. And maybe it is by design to maintain the ambiance of the ship, but I was often frustrated by the lack of trashcans throughout the ship. So pack your bags & board Divina! You won't be disappointed!

Disappointing by bdececk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We cruise at least 4 times a year but will not sail with MSC unless improvements are made. Was going to go on the Seaside next year but we were not allowed to view a Yacht Club cabin for that cruise unless we were going to upgrade immediately . Terrible customer relations.

MSC WAS FABULOUS by 10schick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I highly recommend MSC Divina! We had a great time! The cruise ship was beautiful and the entertainment was 2nd to none. The food was very good. Not your typical "cruise" food. But still had your American comfort food, hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, and pizza. They had an abundance of fruits daily, and the lines were really not bad a all. We will definitely cruise with MSC again in the future.
