Review summary

Customer service is definitely lacking on this cruise line. The ship itself is absolutely beautiful and elegant at every turn. 10 of us cruising ranging in age from 32-71 and ALL of us were in agreement on everything. 2nd time on this ship for 4 of us. Price and itinerary is why we picked the cruise for a return visit. However, due to Hurricane Irma, the itinerary was changed and actually added and extra port at no extra charge. The food this time seemed to be better, but we also did specialty dining which we prepaid before hand. Did eat at the buffet for snacks and lunch some days and that also seemed better than last time. Didn't visit the MDR for dinner till the last day and that was a disaster. Food was bland and even though the dining room was pretty empty, it seemed to take forever to get simple things... we like Tabasco and there always seemed to be one lonely bottle every morning for breakfast that had to be tracked town and would always be taken away to be given to someone else before we even used it. Found that odd. Ice was also scarce in your drink weather it be for cocktails, water or soda. Think that's a European thing since my FIL is from England and he's not a fan of ice. I think everyone in our party actually spent more time at guest services for one reason or another the first 3 days. Silly things too... cards wouldn't work(several times) internet connection issues, etc. The internet on the ship is only really good if you are in public spaces. In the cabin it takes forever to connect and then you get bumped for whatever reason. I actually picked up wifi from a carnival ship in a port one day BEFORE I could connect to the Divina. I know... I'm on vacation. Why do I need the internet.... because I have things to do, banking and other things. It's my vacation right? First sea day in one of the bars was a mess. Only 2 bartenders doing double duty and got orders wrong and really had a hard time understanding what we were asking for. Finally someone made a phone call to another crew member and within and hour they had more staff. Now for the ports. Costa maya was hot as hell and a small port area for 3 ships. Didn't have an excursion since itinerary change was made 6 days before sailing and being I live in south FLA and dealing with the hurricane I didn't have time to look at one. But we got off the boat and walked around for an hour or so. Went back to the pool on the boat. Will probably look into excursions next time. Grand cayman is a tender port and we have been there enough. Montego Bay was great. Rented a bus for all of us and were taken to a local place called Peppas. A tiki hut with outdoor seating and an amazing view. The food was the absolute best! Really nice people. And Nassau is Nassau if you have ever been. Anyway, like I said... small silly things. Not enough to ruin our vacation as that's what it is and what we all needed after dealing with hurricane madness. Definitely want to try the seaside when it comes but won't pass up the divina if the price is right.

Our room steward was great and our server in the Black Crab , he was overworked but did the best he could , we cruised as a group of 8 people So dining was a gab fest it took 1.5 to 1.75 to finish dinner it was slow but we were in no hurry ,

I'm going on Divina in December. Sounds like MSC needs to do something about their crew to passenger ratio. I'll try not to be too pesty. Perhaps if I bribe my stateroom attendant I'll have enough ice.
