A dream came true. by galinacosmetics

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship is a fairy tale! I was digging internet to find the best possible & this trip met all my expectations. International crue were trying to do everything to make us satisfied and happy. The design of the ship is superb. Classy, modern, The room (with a balcony, 12th deck) was comfortable & wisely planned, so that you do not suffer from lack of space for your stuff. Italian cheff made delicious wonders & the chocolate ice-cream on the upper deck was preparing right on the ship, exactly the same flavour I liked when I traveled in Italy. The SPA is very cosy & beautiful. My massage therapist performed Balinese style massage with shells & warm oils. Intertaining programm is spectacular. The shows, the parties with dances, the bars with different styles of music.... everything you wish. The excursions were OK. I did not expect much from local tourist agencies, but they did good. Everything was on time. The islands are pretty much the same looking, but there is always something you may like to discover. For me it was swimming with sting rays on Cayman. Cute creatures. Snorkeling trips are pretty good too, a lot of under water life to see. So, do not doubt to take a cruise on a beautiful Divina. As for me, I can't wait to book my next vacations!

Love, love, love, this ship! by mzchocolate4evr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first cruise and it was more than I expected. The ship was beautiful, the staff was very friendly, and helpful they always smiled and greeted us. Housekeeping surprised me, everytime we left the room they immediately came behind us and cleaned it back up. And at night after dinner in the Black Crab, we would come back to our bedsheets rolled down so we can just slide on in. Our housekeeper name was Surge we stayed in cabin #8097 and our balcony view was breathe taking. Our waiters were, William and Ronnie those two were a joy to be around. William ensured we had an exceptional dinning experience. I honestly could have stayed on the ship for my 7 days and had just as much fun. Now let's talk about the food, overall the food was good, I'm not one to try different types of foods but there selection was good some nights were a little slow but it was a 5 course meal. But there were better choices of you didn't want to eat in the main dining room you had the dining room on the 14th floor, and other specialty restaurants. The shows were spectacular, my 9 yr. Old looked forward to seeing them every night. Would I go on this ship again? Definitely. Would I recommend a friend? Already have. Lillian W., Savannah, GA

The most beautiful ship we have sailed on. Has a two story Crystal stair case into the ain loby. Looks like you are walking on diamonds. Passengers from many different countries around the world. Stateroom and balcany very clean. Stewarts were excellent. Food was good. Entertaionment was over the top. We have cruised approximately 30 times on various cruise lines, but this was the best entertainment we have ever seen. The best drink package out their. We loved this ship and will probally book another on this ship again. Thank you MSC.

MSC Divina from Miami by TennesseeCruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our first cruise with MSC and were pleasantly surprised.  The reviews that I read online were not great and I really did not know what to expect from MSC.  My family and I have cruised several other cruise lines in the past and based on our experiences with MSC, we would definitely cruise with them again.  The embarkation/debarkation process was the best experience I have had with any cruiseline.  MSC made this process organized, fast, efficient, and smooth.  The ship we cruised on was the Divina.  The ship was beautiful and well designed, especially in the buffet area.  On others ships, this area can be very crowded and you have to wait in long lines (especially on the days at sea).  The layout of the Divina helped to elimate this problem--we never waited in line.  The shows in the theatre was fabulous.  They had a good variety for all.  My children especially liked the acrobatic/musical numbers (Wonderland, Pirates, and the Michael Jackson tribute).  My only suggestion would be to redesign the Junior kids program to include more age categories.  The current age range is from 6-11 years (that is a wide range).  My daughter was 11 years old and thought the activities were more "kiddish" in nature and catered to the younger group.  She ended up spending more time with us, than in the kids program.  However, my son (15 years old) absolutely loved the Teen program (15-17 years) and the Disco.  We had a great time and a wonderful experience and are will likely cruise with MSC again in the future.

Sailed MSC Divina December 7, 2013 by Travelady65

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I sailed the MSC Divina on December 7, 2013 on the 3 night Bahama Sailing... The ship sparkles, very, very clean, stunning magnifient ship.

I arrived at the Port of Miami at Terminal F, about 11:30 am in the morning...checked my lugguage in with a porter, went through security, and check in was a breeze...I was given a number and was told to have a seat, as the ship was not cleared for boarding...I would say within a half hour, the ship was cleared, and being as i was number 1, i was able to board the ship then.

When I boarded i was greeted by the crew, who were all lined up at the gangway...It was a real nice touch...when i boarded the ship i was in awe...It is the beautfiul ship that i was ever on, and i do cruise alot.... The staircase was of swfaroski cyrstals....all marble, and a beautfiul waterfall in the guest relations area..

I went up to the buffet for lunch, as my room was not ready as yet... The buffet lunch was absolutely amazing....It had a carving station, pasta station, salad station...all types of different cheeses, breads, rolls, and pastries, and desserts, a special station for the children to choose from with chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, french fries etc...The food was absolutely delicious....I couldn't help it, but i had to go up for seconds and third, that is how delicous the food was, especially the Italian Food....All of their breads, rolls, danishes, pastries, pastas, are homemade on board the ship....

After lunch they made an announcement the all the cabins were ready, so i went to my cabin, which was on deck 11, cabin number 11208... My room was an inside cabin, which suited me fine, as i was sailing solo....Cabin was decorated in dark woods, with two big closets, with lots of hangers...the third closed when you opened it had a set of 8 drawers where you can put clothing, and also there are two night stands with drawers in them also....The bedding was of a design of marroon and black accents, with two matching pillows...The bathroom was a real nice size...no more shower curtains....the shower was of plexi glass, and you opened the door to enter the shower... in the shower they had a dispenser for shampoo and body wash....My suggestion is to bring a bar of soap with you, as they dont put soap in the room...lots of space in the bathroom to store things, even cabinets underneath the sink....nice big fluffy bath towels size of a bath sheet, along with hand towels, and wash cloths.... room also had a nice vanity, plenty of storage space, outlets, a mini bar....the bed was the most comfortable bed i ever slept on, when taking a cruise.....Have to say that my room was very cozy.....

The muenster drill was a little chaotic....you had to bring your life jacket with you, and go to your assigned station which was in one of the lounges....but i am pretty this will be under control shortly....what happened was the drill was at 4:00 in the afternoon, and people were still boarding the ship...as the ship did not sail until 7:00 in the evening....

Entertainment was the best at sea....All professional production shows...we saw Abbracadobra, Witches of Paris, Starwalker (which was a tribute to Michael Jackson), Wonderland.....All of these shows got standing ovations, that is how good their shows were...Also had acrobats, which were amazing.

I had early sitting for dinner in the Villa Rossa Dining Room... food was to die for....everything that was on the menu, was delicious....I had shrimp cocktail, black angus steak, which was cooked to perfection so, so tender, prime rib with vegetable and baked potato, Lasagna Bolgnese, and shrimp, hazelnut cheesecake, gelato, and tirasumu.....our waiter and his helper, could not do enough for us.....our food came out nice and hot, and they were always there if we wanted something else.....They were very professional at there job.....Did not have a problem communicating with them whatsoever...

Activities and Pool Area were beautiful...I believe that they have five pools and i belieive eight jacuzzis.... the main pool area was beautfiul the way the pool area was designed....Lots of lounge chairs, did not have a problem in finding one at all.... There was shaded areas, as well as the sunbathers areas....Children's pool area had a nice waterside....also they have an inifinity pool on deck 15 aft.... At certain times of the day, they do acquacycling in this pool, which is alot of fun.  Activities were great, and so were the bands....they had music playing all over the ship in the evening.....Bar Service was great....What i liked is you don't get hounded by bar servers, trying to sell you the drink of the day....They just walk around, and if you want a drink, you call them over, or you can go up to the bar and get one....That is what i like.....It made the pool area nice and relaxing....Also you don't hear announcements being made all of the time, which is a nice touch.....

All i can say, is that MSC sold me, and they will be getting a lot of my business...A matter of fact, i will be sailing on the Divina again, in October 2014 going to the Eastern Carribbean on a 7 night cruise.... I had an amazing time on her, weather was great, sun all three days, might some wonderful people on board...

I have to say that the crew, customer relations, activities director, cruise director, food and beverage managers, were really professional and helpful, and friendly...Cabin Steward was amazing.... I just hope that someone from MSC reads my review, because their were alot of people on my cruise complaining.....I went with an open mind, i did read mixed reviews......but i did not find anything to complain about when i was onboard...These people did a wonderful job....and you have to remember this ship came from Europe, where they do some things differently then the US....but it is like a new job....you are slow at what you do at first, yes you do make some errors, but as time goes on....you get the hang of things...and the job becomes second nature to you.... All i can say to Mr. Sasso is, that MSC won me over, you have a beautfiul ship, that i know will be successful in the American Market.......You sold me, and i just loved sailing your ship, and the Italian Experience....

Also i forgot to mention the Coffee Bar and Pastry Shop aboard the Divina.....The different coffees, and pastries to die for....Absolutely delicious...also they have a sports bar that serves wings, liquior, and shows differents sports, along with a two lane bowling alley....

Will i sail MSC Divina again?  Yes, Yes, Yes.....I am sold on this line....This is what i have been waiting for.....A good Italian Liner.....

Please take all these negative reviews with a grain of salt.... I come on a cruise to enjoy myself, not to nit pick the ship apart along with the crew and food.  These type of people should then stick to the lines that they are use to, and not waste their money, if they is all they are going to do is complain....To me, being on a cruise, not having to cook and do housework, being served my meals, is an enjoyable vacation....I come on a cruise to enjoy myself, relax, and have a good time.....NOT COMPLAIN!!!!!!!!!

Nice European Cruise by azstreamlined

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

MSC Divina is a great cruise ship....beautiful amenities and fantastic itinerary. Americans and Brits will be well served knowing this is a European cruise so many of the little touches one might see on an American Cruise Line aren't here. But that doesn't detract from the cruise. Be prepared for a cultural event and to take things in stride as you are on board with 3000 others from many different cultures. Habits and ideas collide at the buffet when it sometimes seems like chaos but is really just a bunch of people doing their own thing. All announcements are in 6 languages and other than the typical French, most attempt to speak English readily. The food is not fantastic but the itinerary and the atmosphere more than make up for it. Reminder that children cruise for free so you will probably see more of them than normal. The shops onboard are all high end so don't expect to do any souvenir shopping there. Be sure to invest in the Allegrisimo drink package..you won't get a better bargain. Try not to compare this cruise line to an American one as you will surely be disappointed. But view it as an opportunity to spend time with people of many countries and enjoy the scenery.

Great ship, average food, poor service by Dean1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship is very beautiful and has some nice features. But the service was very disappointing. Drink service to tables was very slow. Most often, I was getting my own drinks at the bar. Dining room was limited in drink offerings. The service in the dining room was relatively good, but the food was average at best. Very limited selection for kids that included cheese pizza that was microwaved. We selected the ships because of the ports of call (Italy, Greece, Turkey, and Croatia). The ports were great!

Worst cruise experience of my 20 plus cruises by Bginlv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I Booked an 11 day cruise nearly 1 year ago along with 5 other families. From day one, whenever any of us called customer service we were given conflicting information to various questions. IE: drink packages...does the dining room have tables to accommodate 12 in our group. Obviously their representatives do not know your product well enough too give the same answers.  I searched and searched for a phone number to speak with someone at corporate but all of the numbers connect to the same customer NO SERVICE PHONE BANK!  I finally obtained the phone number for Corporate in Geneva Switzerland. They told me there is nothing they can do and gave me a number different from the 10 plus I have already called.  Guess what ......same customer NO SERVICE. Finally on board!!! I am diabetic. Fridge wasn't working.. took 2 days to get replaced. 3rd day many passengers on deck 13 received a notice that the ship would be performing balcony maintenance. It said to keep the balcony door locked and curtains closed to maintain security and privacy. I paid for a balcony and essentially had an interior cabin for 5 of the 10 days. One of our group was in bed when a worker opened the balcony door and walked into her room.  When they finished the maintenance, the balcony chairs and floor were filthy. We had to clean it. As of the day we left the ship the wooden hand rails were not replaced.  We all complained about paying for balcony cabins and not being able to utilize them. Guest services said the order came from corporate and the ship had nothing do with the maintenance. Some of us were given champagne others macarons but most of us ZERO. MSC MUST reimburse those of us that we deprived of use of the balcony & a bottle of champagne or macaroons doesn't work.  After talking to literally over 100 passengers on deck 13, most have complained. Guest services gave us the same phone number that everyone calls to book.. complain or anything else.  Now to the food.. The MSC staff were fantastic. The dinning room meals were so so. However, many passengers said the Buffet was better.  The guests were from many different countries and for the most part extremely RUDE. Pushing into the line.. banging into one another, cutting into the line with hardly a single excuse me or apology.  My cousin had someone push him and his food and coffee went flying. Once again not even an apology.    The final kick in the butt. Some of us booked an everglades tour for the return day. They told us to be at the meeting point at 715 am on the day of arrival. We were given priority 1 departure tags for our luggage. When we got to the baggage area almost every other departure numbers were there as well. It took nearly 1 1/2 hours to get our luggage and clear customs. Finally we get to the bus and we are waiting there as well. I asked the driver when will we leave for the tour. He explained that due to MSC screwing up the priority departures we needed to wait for 12 more people scheduled on this tour.  It is now 10 am and we need to be at the airport by 1pm and we have been sitting on the bus for over an hour. The driver further stated that they will cut the tour short because of the delayed departure. At 10:15 the 12 missing guests had not shown up. Not knowing when the bus would leave and fear of not getting back from the tour on time, our group exited the bus and took taxis to the airport. It is a good thing we did that, because the TSA lines were packed. It took over 1 hour just to get through. Collectively our group cruised over 100 times. We all agreed this was the WORST CRUISE ever. Barry Greenfield

Great Cruise on MSC Divina by CruzeFan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina

This was my 4th MSC cruise in the last 12 months and 3rd on Divina since October. All were very good, but this time was excellent, primarily because of people I met and the group at my table. We did many things together and had a great time.
