Review summary

This was a beautiful ship full of problems, biggest problem was communication. Internet was the worse of any other ship I've been on. Starting from before the cruise, trying to get to their web-site to do anything, was such a big problem and it only continued once we were on. Communication between crew members was terrible, different every time we ask anyone on almost everything.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Good. I was taken in a wheelchair (due to having double replacement knee surgery and not able to walk/stand for to long) at a reasonable amount of time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Got a drink package for 3 of us, that was great. Buffet was crowed, tables were full, hard for people with disabilities like myself, food was just okay (not a lot to choose from), service at times was good but not always. Bought 2 specialty restaurants, Sushi place was terrible, very little and poor quality food, bad service, alcoholic drink (sake) not included in drink package, other (Butcher's cut) was fantastic. Main dinning room, breakfast was awful, terrible service, had to wait for water and coffee, breakfast orders were wrong. Once reported to Supervisor, next time was better. Lunch was okay for both food and service. Dinner was absolutely excellent!!!!

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pools were crowed, later for pool steps was loose, no safety handrails, a bit fearful of falling walking around the pool, nothing to hold on to. Was told about that we were able to use the Yacht Club pool, but that was not the case, very disappointing.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows were poor, magician and Abba, piano and Saxophone performers were great.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was absolutely excellent with the only exception of the waiters at breakfast time in the main dinning area, specifically a black gentleman with the name Lee. On the other hand, Marilyn Tome and Sukawan Agus were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very nice and clean ship. Staff was always cleaning all the areas to include restrooms. We were told this was not a "smart" ship. Internet was absolutely terrible!!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very comfortable for 3 senior ladies, one handicap, could have used more walking space but was enough for the period of time. Cabin and bathroom was always clean.

Ship tip

There was extremely bad communication throughout the trip between crew members in front desk, excursions, etc. Accurate and Consistent Communication is MUCH NEEDED!!!

Ports of call

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

Beach was very crowed, no designated handicap areas, or at the transportation provided.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Oranjestad, Aruba

Cartagena, Colombia

We took own transportation (taxi) I really enjoyed visiting the city on our own. Pepe was absolutely great. It was nice to see a lot of nice birds/animals right at the port. Very nice welcome! Bathrooms were clean and available. Shopping was also nice to have close to the ship.

Colon, Panama

2 out of 5
Very expensive Excursion for what we got to see/experience. Bus tour was the worse. We were taken mainly to the poorest side of the Cities.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

4 out of 5

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Was nice to go shopping right outside the port. Excursions were cancelled so this was good to have but not able to see sites as planned.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
The worse I have ever encounter. Handicap ,people (wheeler chair) had to wait over 3 hours to start getting out. There was no order and short of staff. Very stressful, and awful experience.

Thanks for the review. I was on the same sailing and agree that there pre-cruise communication and website are terrible. Once on board, the experience was great. I didn’t have Internet because it rarely works well on any ship. I always found plenty of seats in the Buffet towards the back, which most people seemed to not know existed as it was empty many times. I had breakfast in the dining room six or seven times and found the service and food to be excellent. The issue with debarkation was due to customs and immigration, not the Cruise Line. They only had three agents working initially and dropped to two later own. I heard that there had been an accidental training death of one of the immigration agents and many were at the funeral that day.
