Review summary

For the price, it was a decent time. The fact that there were stops every day made the fact that the food wasn't so great tolerable. Also, the fact that we were off the boat every day also made up for the lack of entertainment. If we had a full day at sea, I think that it would have been tedious. Also, the fact that my children were older made the fact that the children's area wasn't the greatest something we could accommodate.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was easy and quick

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The main dining room was abysmal-the food was disgusting and our table location was awful-we were seated right near the check in desk and we had people waiting for their seating with their back ends right in our faces. Also, even though we were the first seating, they were out of several items we ordered. The buffet was ok although there was minimal variety.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We mainly used the indoor pool which was fine. The outdoor pool area was nice although the hot tubs were very crowded, mainly with unsupervised kids and teenagers

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The main shows were pretty cheesy-one night was a tribute to the Jim Carey film "The Mask"-that was very odd.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
My son went the first night and did not enjoy it-there were minimal activities and he was pretty bored.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Overall the staff was very good although I do think that they could use more staff to deal with the number of guests. The staff was friendly, however trying to get a waiter at any of the bars was a long process

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very nice and very clean. There did appear to be a leak on the floor we were staying on, as we saw buckets and water dripping from the ceiling every day.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
For an interior room, the size was good and it was very well maintained.

Ship tip

If you do book, go into it with eyes open-do not be expecting a top of the line cruise, however for the price it was acceptable.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
No excursion-Rome is lovely

Palermo, Sicily

4 out of 5
No excursion. This port was nice, although the city could use a cleaning

Cagliari, Sardinia

3 out of 5
The city is nice, however there really is not much to do/see. I don't know that it is necessary to be in port as long as we were

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
This city is beautiful and it was a wonderful visit.

Valencia, Spain

2 out of 5
I really did not enjoy this port-the city was fairly dirty and there was almost nothing of interest to do/see

Marseille (Provence), France

3 out of 5
Although we did not do a cruise led excursion, we did go to Aix en Provence on our own. Aix is GORGEOUS and it would have been nice to have more time in this port to see this area. Marseilles itself I could do without.

Genoa, Italy

4 out of 5
Genoa was a nice surprise. I was not expecting much and it turned out to be a lovely city to visit

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Disembarkation was a disaster. After waiting to leave the boat, we were denied exit because our children's pre-paid cards had 2 euro remaining on them. Then after addressing that issue, we were again denied exit because we were told we had an outstanding balance on our account, despite the fact we had provided a credit card the night before and were told by staff any additional charges would be applied to the card.
