A Great Family Vacation by CarolynW10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was one of the best vacations we have ever had. Food, service, shows all excellent . Big disappointment not to be able to get to Cayman Islands, but weather is not always predictable. The trip to Tulum was very rough, we should have been given seasick pills an hour before departure to give them time to work. That was the only downside to an excellent vacation.

Great cruise!! by ChuckS6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Everything was great. ALL of the staff were pleasant and friendly, this includes stateroom attendants to deck helpers. Food was not as good as I had hoped, it was not the menu or presentation, rather quality due to quantities that need to be prepared at one time.

Best Vacation I've ever experienced by AnhN2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The first cruise that I ever took was in 1994 ( it was wtih another cruise liner) and it was an okay experience. This was the 2nd cruise that I've taken in the last 12 years. I didn't have very high expectation. I was impressed with the size of the the Mariner of the Seas, the buffet was good, the formal dining area was beautiful and the food was fabulous. We ate when we weren't even hungry, that's how great the food was. The shops were nice and each evening they had different selection of things for sale and at a good price. I thought that the Cruise Director and her team did a great job with all the activities on board the ship. We didn't have time to make it to half of the venues. My two boys (9yrs & 11yrs) had such a great time that they wanted to stay on the ship for another week. The day care on the ship was fabulous, and my kids didn't want to spend any time with us, while we were on the ship. We tried to tell all our friends and family how great our vacation experience was, but there's nothing like experience it for yourself. At least once in your life time you need to travel to the Bahamas on the Royal Caribbean! Before we even got off the ship, we were talking about planning our next vacation on the Royal Caribbean in 2007.

A Great Cruise by JohnnyT2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship and staff were excellent. I have absolutely no complaints about the food. The Portofino Restaurant was worth every extra dollar paid. I would have liked to have one more port to get off the ship.

Great Cruise (our 4th in 3 years) by StevenK2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Navigator class ships are by far the best designed ships. We never feel like we are in a crowd, there are many hideaways both inside and outside where we can find quiet and relaxation, even during days at sea. I can always find places to comfortably explore the ship, finding new places each day. Compare this to Carnival ships that channel all the passengers into a small area of the ship. The Mariner of the Seas was wonderful.

LOVE ROYAL CARRIBEAN by TracyB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Mariner of The Seas was a fantastic ship. Cleanliness was top priority. The cruise director Kirk was the key element to making the cruise fun with lots of entertainment. I hated to go to sleep at night fearing I was going to miss something. I also woke up early wanted to get in as much as possible. This was our first cruise. We were so eager to explore every nook and cranny of the ship. Top notch service will cruise again real soon.

Great Vacation by DonaldK3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was a floating city with anything you could imagine needing or wanting right there. The only downfall was the fact that there are only three pools onboard.

Fall Cruise 2006 by UmaP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I love the Voyager class ships and was excited to be cruising on the Mariner. All the standard amenities were great, however i felt the ship looked older than it actually was..the rooms were getting a little worn. Overall this was a great cruise ship, but i do think RCI needs to pay attention to room mantainance and overall cleanliness of the ship.

We just went on the "Mariner of the Sea" for a seven day cruise of the Caribbean for our Honeymoon. The ship was incredible and the inlands that we went to were gorgeous. This was our first cruise and we are already talking about taking another one.

A nice cruise with wife and 5yo son by HaroldD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were worried that my son would not enjoy the kids club or refuse to go, but it turned out to be his favorite part of the criuse. That gave us a few hours each day to do things without him. The staff were very friendly, we always felt welcome where ever we went. This was our first cruise with a balcony and would say it was worth the extra expense. It was nice to hang out there when my son was sleeping. I thought the food in the dining room was ok, nothing great. And the pacing of the meal very slow, that could be just the luck of the draw in terms of our table, but hard to sit for two hours with a 5yo just waiting for the next course. We ate at Chops and the service was great and the food very good, though we both thought our steaks were a bit on the dry side despite being cooked properly, maybe too lean? But I would say it's worth the money to do. Smoking was allowed just about everywhere except in the dining areas, I'm sure it is like that in most ships, but if you are use to not being around smoke except in bars, it comes as a shock that you can't walk too many places around the ship without breathing it in.

Another Wonderful Time by KathiH2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We have traveled on the Mariner of the Seas four times now and still enjoy every minute of the cruise. The ship feels like a floating motel, with shopping and activities galore. The eastern itinerary is wonderful with port stops at Coco Cay, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. There is also time to relax on deck and enjoy the ocean views.

A good time by NormaA1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was the largest ship we have cruised on. Loved the Promenade, especially the Cafe being open at all hours. Had a really good time. The Ice Show was terrific. Be sure to get your tickets early. Did not use the specialty restaurants--next time.
