Review summary

We were very happy with our room including housekeeping staff. Although we were assigned a butler, we really did not make use of him. Dining was excellent with very ample portions. I would take another Oceania cruise.

Embarkation

went smoothly but Oceania staff incorrectly told us to purchase Turkish visa which was unnecessary. Note: Oceania did reimburse the visa fees.

Polo Grill (steak restaurant) was not as good as we anticipated and burgers at Waves (outdoor) Grill were overcooked but all other food was excellent as was the service in all dining venues.

Onboard Activities

Pool & all 4 jacuzzis were kept at too cool a temperature. This opinion was shared by everyone who used them. Steam room and fitness center were excellent.

Entertainment

Lastara String Quartet was terrific. They made the cruise for me. Major entertainment was OK but I understand that a ship this size does not have the resources of a larger boat. First comedian was poor. Jeff, the second comedian, was excellent. Ventriloquist was very good. Julia, of the boat's entertainment staff, headlined a show in which she sang Mexican songs. She was poised and an excellent performer.

Great closet space and generous bathroom with shower and separate tub w/shower. Very good bed.

Ship tip

Be selective in choosing excursions. They were not all up to par. It may make sense to book some private tours.

Thank you! Another site that usually pops up when you search for cruise reviews had nothing but negatives about "Marina" and "Oceania". None are verified. This site does verify them, thankfully. You have helped us to decide whether or not to sail on "Marina".
