Alaska is breathtaking. Words cannot describe it. Definitely do the cruise tour, where you spend a few days at the Princess Denali Wilderness Lodge and a few days at the Princess Mt. McKinley Wilderness Lodge.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Two days before our cruise, when we were on the land portion of our tour, we received an e-mail from Princess stating that they were reimplementing their mask policy. We were not happy about this and chose not to wear a mask. No one said anything to us.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was good, but we've had better food on previous Princess cruises. They seemed to go very light on any kind of seasoning.
Crown Grill
4 out of 5
My husband had a burger, which he said was good. We had hoped to order lobster rolls, but not at $15/each.
Crown Grill Bar
4 out of 5
I've been to better Crown Grill's than on the Majestic. My husband ordered a ribeye that he should have sent back. It was a thin end-cut. My lamb chops were excellent as were the sides.
Chopsticks Noodle Bar
5 out of 5
Nothing better than hot soup on an Alaskan cruise.
Alfredo's Pizzeria
5 out of 5
One of the best kept secrets on any Princess ship - Alfredo's - where you can order incredible pizza without an up-charge, a reservation or a line.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We mainly enjoying the beauty of Alaska. The days spent by the glaciers were incredible.
Lido Pool & Hot Tubs
5 out of 5
Nothing like sitting in a hot tub on the lido deck in Alaska while sipping a cocktail and watching a movie. Doesn't get much better than that!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Pricess isn't know for their great shows. We only attended the first show - Soul Music. Wish they'd had Magic Can Do on this cruise.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff was the best. We had Armand as our room steward and Adrian as our server in the Allegro Dining Room.

Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Wish we'd gotten a mini suite. It's nice to have at least 2 chairs. We HATED the new feature of the motion detector lights under the night stands and outside the bathroom. Nothing like being blinded in the middle of the night by lights when you're trying to slip into the bathroom and back out again.
Ship tip
Go to Alfredo's for their awesome pizza. There's no up-charge. Also, go to the International Café for their speciality coffee, breakfast sandwiches and midday or midnight snacks. They're open 24 hr./day. Also, take advantage of room service, especially for morning coffee or juice.
One of the highlights of the cruise! If you have a balcony cabin, you can see the glacier even better than on Deck 17, once the boat swings around to your side because you're not so high up.

Went on the White Pass Rail excursion. The views were incredible! Wear a coat, hat and gloves if you want to take photos from the platform between the cars. Booked tickets to the Days of '98 Show on my own. Wonderful show!
The city itself was OK, but the excursions for Whale Watching and the Mendenhall Glacier were incredible. Check the size of the group. I originally booked an excursion that held 100 people and rebooked for one with only 20 people.
Take the city bus to Totem Bight State Park. The bus is $2 (exact change) and the park is $5. Go early to avoid the tours from the cruise ships. The totems by the lake are magnificent.
We did the hop-on-hop-off bus excursion. It was an expensive ride around town. Some drivers give more info than others, but they are hard to hear. Definitely visit Stanley Park. The flowers are unbelievable.
We were with a group for the hop-on-hop-off excursion. Once we went through the check point, our guide disappeared and we were left to find our way out of the terminal and to the pick-up spot.
Glad you loved your cruise! Alaska just doesn’t disappoint! Someone else had commented about those annoying night lights, and said they covered them up. I covered ours up with tape and paper , then removed it the last day.
