Fraudulent advertised port-of-call at Pitcarin Island.
Review SummaryPoor cabin conditions at the start of the cruise and the fraudulent advertising/marketing of Pitcairn Island as a port-of-call made an otherwise enjoyable cruise disappointing.

Maasdam is a nice sized ship with generally good facilities, but it also shows its age. The crew was almost constantly fixing and painting something, life boat 12 was out-of-service for the first half of the cruise because the lift mechanism was being repaired. Hot water was available only part time for the first few days of the cruise, the bath tub drain did not function and the shower walls and curtain were mildewed and dirty. Cabin stewards were not a attentive as on previous Holland-America and/or Princess cruises. The men's restroom on the Lido deck near the pool was very dirty and smelled awful. Holland America fraudulently listed Pitcairn Island as a port-of-call, which according to the Maasdam Captain was never meant to be a port-of-call and never will be.
