Great time,!!! by reedsfind

Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Awesome week! Loved sailing on RCCL's Liberty of the Seas! This was our 4th cruise and as perfect as you can get. Loved a day at Royal Palms Resort in Grand Caymen. We reserved a private cabana for the day. Fried fish dinner at the resort was awesome and large enough to share.  Water was beautiful! Latitude 19 is our favorite shop at this port. In Cozumel we returned to Mr. Sanchos Resort for a second year. The water is beautiful, food and setvice is awesome, and we love their gift shops! Hot rock massages are only $30 too! Or, try a fish spa pedicure for only $20. Shopping at Cozumel's port is also very good. We were not impressed by Regae Hill in Jamiaca but highly recommend Bamboo Rafting the Martha Brae and Dunn's River Falls.

Great cruise ... Liberty of the Seas (Galveston) by avharris

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a wonderful ship, with a great and accommodating crew.  Food was wonderful, amenities beyond our wants/needs, tremendous ports (Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel) with the most memorable excursions and was just a great week overall.

The only real negative dealt more with the port of Galveston (luggage process, boarding, etc.) than with anything dealing with RCCL.  We would certainly choose this itinerary again, and after many cruises on other cruise lines ... well, I believe that we will stick with Royal Caribbean going forward.

Other cruise lines will never be Royal!! by smarttex98

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

While we had cruised on Royal Caribbean before, this was the first time we used to assist in the selection and booking process.  Our service representative, Lexi Garcia, knows her stuff, is very personable, and made everything very clear to us. As for the cruise itself, RC is perfection when it comes to serving the passengers.  We never had a situation where we felt slighted or wanting more - ALL crew members are committed to our happiness.  We booked our next cruise while onboard and can't wait!!  Love

Perfect vacay by lauralee32563

Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We (husband, four kids aged 10-20 & grandpa) had a wonderful time. The ship was beautiful, the food delicious and activities for everyone with varied interest. A couple new ports of call for us!!! Fell in love with Mayan Princess on Roatan, so recommend that day pass!!! Awesome!!! One of the prettiest beaches I've ever been too. Just helped 5th greater with a coral reef paper and we used Roatan as our subject.  Entertainment on the ship was really good, and the ice show was a family favorite. Hope your fortunate to get Olicia & Ikedek as servers!!! They made dinner time so much fun...we laughed so much!!! We can't wait until next cruise and would do this same trip again. All the staff we encountered were cheerful, helpful and professional. Room small but comfy and clean.

Just Fair by csj9955

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was very crowded. We found out they recently added more cabins on the ship which explains longer lines and the inability to find chairs in the theatre. The MY TIME dining room was very unorganized. If this would have been my first cruise, it would have been my last.

Wonderful Vacation by curranelizabeth

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time on this ship! Melvin & Raj at the R bar were fantastic and Jason at Sabor was also excellent. Great service everywhere on the ship. The beaches in Honduras were beautiful, the ruins in Belize were amazing (long ride to get there, and it is hot). Cozumel was a lot of fun, we did an excursion to Isla Pasion on the Twister boat (#3 with Captain Jim and Henry). Lots of fun things to do on Liberty of the Seas- FloRider, rock wall climbing, hot tubs, pools, movies by the pool, eating, drinking... I am ready to go back!

Great food in the Windjammer restaurant. by vbuster

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great food in the Windjammer restaurant.  During lunch and dinner times they had different additional stations giving you fresh Shush, or pasta your way etc.  The managers and chiefs we running around dishing out fresh hot cookies or apple pie and ice cream.

Only down side:  We were cruising with our 9 year old grandson during school time and there were not enough children in his age group to run his club so they merged his club with the younger one!   He was a little disappointed.

Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

this is the best cruis I have ever taken. Credit the staff in all areas. Special attention to the ships cooks . Meals were top notch in all areas except the desserts had little flavor and sweetness .attitude is everything to a cruiser ,and I have never experienced a crew with better treatment in all areas from meal service to cabin attendant .

Happiness by karendanczakl44

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Loved the ship and itinerary but service onboard had room for improvement. We cruise on Royal Caribbean almost every year and have come to expect perfection. While everyone was pleasant, little mistakes were common. For example, the first day we returned to our cabin and had a voicemail message regarding our luggage when all of our bags had arrived. Information in the Compass was not always accurate and some staff were not familiar with the details of the drinks package we had purchased.

Liberty of the Seas by 5232emop

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was one of the most enjoyable cruises we have taken.  The entertainment was excellent!  We attended all the shows including the ice show and were never disappointed.  The excursions were also great.  The excursion staff worked hard to make sure they were well organized and things were on schedule.  The staff on this ship were very friendly and really seemed to enjoy serving and assisting you.  The food in the dining room was very good with a very good selection.  Just a great cruise vacation!!

first rci cruise by ronjames1948

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

the ship was nice. the service was great. we thought our rooom would be bigger, more along the lines of our holland america cruises. i had a terrible steak in  thechop house grille steakhouse.  i should have sent it back but didn't.  our room attendant and all the wait staff were excellent. i am on the fence as to whether or not to book with rci in the future. we have been on 4 cruises and this is the bottom of the list; but overall it was still very good; just not a favorite.

Liberty of the Seas - Galveston by 2RCcruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time on Liberty of the Seas! Liberty is a beautiful ship that has so much to offer. After going on Royal's larger Oasis ship our last two cruises we were very impressed with Liberty. We loved the choices of the specialty restaurants, Giovanni's Table and Sabor were wonderful. We didn't make it to try Chop's Grille. The addition of the water slides is great, had alot of fun on the slides! The shows were fantastic, the cast of Saturday Night Fever did an amazing job, very impressive. The ice skating show and Comedians Larry Reeb and Steve McGrew were great! As always, we love the dining room and all of our meals were great. We are very glad to have this size of ship available in Galveston since we visit there and are able to drive down to cruise.

Satisfaction not guaranteed! by Geniave

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed the Ship and the many opportunities for entertainment! It would have been better if there weren't so much added expense once you are on board! What used to be free (Johnny Rockets) on other ships, now costs a service charge per person. For a group of 7, we paid $41.70! As well, photographs are so high, we just didn't look at them! At our excursion in Cozumel, encounter with the Dolphins, we weren't allowed to take our own pictures and they wanted $420 for a CD of pictures! So after paying $80 per person for 7 people, we ended up with no pictures! What a shame! As well, if you go on this cruise, be prepared to not stop at Grand Cayman! We have been scheduled to stop there on 4 cruises, but only 2 actually stopped! So there's a 50% chance you won't stop there due to turbulent seas! We did get port charges reimbursed and excursion ticket prices reimbursed! But if you are going to mainly see Grand Cayman, I wouldn't go on this cruise!

Fun and Relaxing by campi4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Wonderful cruise with family and friends (12 adults and 1 infant). Our last cruise with Royal Caribbean was two years ago in April and decided to do another with Royal Caribbean because of our wonderful experience.  Check-in was easy, service was great and our rooms were clean.  Our steward Antoni was very attentive and our main dining servers Louie and Sharon were outstanding, especially with our 14 month old grandson.  We noticed that taking a cruise at different times of year means different menus and entertainment depending on the average age group.  This cruise was geared to a more mature clientele, where our April tour was geared to a younger group. Both were enjoyable, but in a different way so pick your dates according to the ages in your group.  The only thing that I felt was not proper was having some bartenders give themselves a tip without notice.  Only after receiving our final bill at the end of our cruise did we notice these charges. We had prepaid our gratuities (including beverage packages) and also gave extra tips for service we thought warranted which included stewards, bartenders, maintenance and waitstaff. Overall, we still believe Royal Caribbean is the best Cruise line for our family

Liberty of the Sea cruise by MaryandBobVaca

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Husband and I were celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary on the Liberty of the Sea cruise to Jamaica and Cozumel.  We were suppose to also go to Grand Cayman but due to incremental weather we were not allowed off the cruise ship.  disappointing but understandable for safely reasons.  The nightly shows and entertainment were stellar, our balcony room was wonderful but the bed was extra firm so I didn't sleep too well.  The drink packages cost a LOT, even more than our cruise and of course I had to over indulge to "get my monies worth".  The pools felt good on a hot day but ice cold on chilly days.  Food was "eh" in the Windjammer but better in the main dining room and service was superb in the dinning room.  Lot's of extra's to do on board for an additional cost like bingo, gambling, classes, spa services.  Again, I spent more money on the extra charges than what it cost to cruise so..... be prepared to spend a LOT MORE MONEY on board.  We did save some money by booking directly with other companies at the ports of call instead of booking through RC.  Excursion days were my favorite days and we had a blast.

Wonderful cruise by Cruiser73

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We really enjoyed our cruise on Liberty of the Seas.  As good as The Navigator was, this was even better.  It is a very beautiful ship, the food was the best yet and overall experience as wonderful.  The evening entertainment was very well done.  The only problem we had was very minor.  They do not seem to have room in the Windjammer for the larger number of passengers.  We were seated in the Giovanni room once as an overflow and the staff there did not seem to appreciate it at all.  One young lady even refused to clean our table from the previous diners.  But even this was a very minor issue in the overall experience.  We also enjoyed going to Montego Bay instead of Falmouth, Jamaica.  Also liked having a captain that was easier to understand over the speaker system.  Overall this was our best cruise experience yet.

Customer service was unbeatable.  The best  overall cruise director ever.  Food was awesome.  Do miss the midnight chocolate buffet/sculptures.  Entertainment was top notch .  Captain was very personable.  I enjoyed his daily announcements and made me very comfortable with his leadership style.  I have been on many cruises over the last 10 years - but this was definitely one of the BEST.

Great experience! by cstebbins

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first experience cruising from Galveston.  The shopping area next to the port was awesome and a great way to kill time while we waited to board ship.  Liberty did not disappoint.  Ship was beautiful and the crew was awesome.  The weather didn't cooperate the first couple of days (cloudy/windy) and the ship seemed to move more than others we've been on but we managed. We realize that RC cannot control the weather though the captain did reroute to avoid a storm.  Our stateroom was great.  The food on board didn't "wow" us as it has in prior cruises.  The exception was two dinners at Chop's.  The first was so good we decided to return.  Sabor was a disappointment with the exception of the margaritas and guacamole.  We dined at this restaurant on Oasis of the Sea and we very impressed but the reinterpretation for Liberty didn't quite make it.  The dinning service was very good at all the food venues.
