Review summary

We had a great time on Liberty of the Seas! Liberty is a beautiful ship that has so much to offer. After going on Royal's larger Oasis ship our last two cruises we were very impressed with Liberty. We loved the choices of the specialty restaurants, Giovanni's Table and Sabor were wonderful. We didn't make it to try Chop's Grille. The addition of the water slides is great, had alot of fun on the slides! The shows were fantastic, the cast of Saturday Night Fever did an amazing job, very impressive. The ice skating show and Comedians Larry Reeb and Steve McGrew were great! As always, we love the dining room and all of our meals were great. We are very glad to have this size of ship available in Galveston since we visit there and are able to drive down to cruise.

We were very pleased with our cabin and balcony. Having the slightly larger balcony room from what we had last time was very noticeable and made a big difference.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

We are fans of Galveston and have visited several times the past few years. Many great restaurants to choose from (Fish Tales, Fisherman's Wharf, Bubba Gump, Salsas) are a few of our faves! Pleasure Pier and Moody Gardens are always fun to visit. If driving to cruise, the Galveston Park & Cruise on New Strand Street (across from cruise terminal 2) is wonderful and very convenient. Parked indoors on this cruise and it was great! Very friendly people.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Did Resort for a Day at Hilton Rose Hall. Transportation was provided, great beach, great food & drinks, great service, great fun!

George Town, Grand Cayman

Didn't get to stop at Cayman due to weather coming which would've made rough tendering. However, we did enjoy another full day at sea. Love sea days!

Cozumel, Mexico

Went to Nachi-Cocom and enjoyed a great day on the beach. Service, food & drink, massage all was great! Just a quick taxi ride from the ship.

So glad to hear 75 days!! Last year we went on carnival and I can say it was ok but Royal is better to me. I will try carnivals new ships tho. I did like the smell by the end of the cruise it was so bad!!!!

Glad to hear this. Taking our 1st cruise in mid April. This type of review increases the excitement level.

Didn't really care for the party. Felt like a college scene. I am looking for family fun. Also, didn't care for the whole seminars and a long raffle stuff. Felt like it consumed too much of my time. Lastly, didn't feel as if Carnival had much of shows and fun things to do. I am hoping RC delivers.

Yes, IMO, Royal is much classier than Carnival. It depends on what you're after though really; Carnival seems to be more of a party line.

Glad to know it's a great ship. 1st time for me with RC will be in Aug. Wondering if it is better than Carnival.

Good to know! 90 days out to my first cruise in a very long time, first with RC and first to the Caribbean.
