we had a great time by paffanatic10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We needed some away time and just wanted to relax so we booked this cruise.  We had dining mates that were our age and we related well to and enjoyed the company!  We had a wonderful cabin attendant.

We did wonder what happened to the chocolate buffet that was always a favorite.  We went into each port and found our own things to do and enjoyed the taxi drivers Snorkeling Shopping...

Liberty of the Seas Review by SidTaylor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

2 ports we have never been to - Honduras and Belize - was interesting, different, and OK.  Ship in excellent condition.  New slides and updated 9-hole putt putt excellent.  Entertainment was diverse.  Food was good and lot of variety.

Galveston kind of out of the way if you have to fly into Houston to get there but that is understood.

Liberty of the Seas Galveston cruise by phil46

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Liberty of the Seas is an excellent ship. Refurbished earlier this year (2016) it's like a new ship, really "brand new".  The added recreational features are for a younger crowed, we knew this going in and I have no comment on these new features that RCCL is very proud of.

On this cruise (9/25/16)...

Dining Service-

At breakfast in the dining room, not good, inattentive waiters, sloppy service, stingy portions of food from the kitchen.

At dinner in the dining room, much better but not as good as past RCCL cruises.   Food and food selection were very good from starters to deserts.  Most nights we got what we ordered.

Windjammer buffet... always jammed up due to RCCL blocking off one side of the room until the other side is packed.  Food was good, service was good, crew did a good job of keeping vacated tables cleaned.  Always a challenge to find a table.  After two days of breakfast in the dining room we moved here for breakfast and had a much better experience.

Cabin Service...

Awesome and excellent service from Leslie Cash the entire 7 days.

Entertainment...

Not a good selection on this cruise, 3 comedians in 7 days.  The Elvis performance was excellent, the best of the cruise.  Saturday Night Fever performance should be scrapped, it never should have made it to the stage.

Smoking...

Smoking occurs on the port side on decks 4, 11, 12, the entire port side of these decks. That's half of the outside area of the ship.  Smoking is allowed in a smaller area on decks 4 and 11 but crew members, even though present, don't correct people smoking in non-smoking areas.  This makes for a very smelly ship on the outside decks.

RCCL posts signs on deck and in the entertainment venues about not saving seats for your large group, again no one enforces this policy, the result is inconsiderate people do very well while many quests wander around and can't find a seat in a room with many empty seats.

Wonderful as always BUT Windjammer could use some help. by Mickeygirl71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I love RC. We like to partake in all the culinary offerings on board. This time we were very disappointed in the quality of a few items in the Windjammer (buffet). The mass produced eggs offered during breakfast were not good at all. The eggs had the consistency of yellow oatmeal most times. I, along with many other passengers, opted to stand in the omelette line to get decent eggs. My husband chose to eat the hard boiled eggs instead of the egg mush. Also, one night they had an enormous apple pie. On the surface it looked great but when I scooped up some of the pie the filling was basically apples and uncooked dough.  I took a bite and it was like eating flour mixed with chunky applesauce.  My husband and I are not picky eaters. So, when I tell you something was bad,it was BAD. The other venues on the ship were as expected.  Overall, the ship was great. All the employees were helpful and the shows were very entertaining. I highly recommend RC and the Galveston port.

Freedom and Liberty to enjoy at my leisure all of the amenities of a LUXURY SHIP.. Excellent staff and crew. Some food was underwhelming but they were quick to rectify.

Nice 3 generation trip by nzastrow

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My son and his family joined us on this trip. My 14 year old Grandson had a ball with all the ship board activities. The food was somewhat good. A few things were just bed, i.e.: bacon was pork jerky, chicken con du bleu was very dry.  My bed was so hard that I slept on the couch with a comforter doubled under me, but my sister's in the same room was fine. Kids had the same problem, bunks hard but parents bed was fine. Overall service was very good was ship was very clean, no illness aboard that we heard of.  Long tender ride into Belize, which RC has no control over, but thought future travels should know in case of tours booked elsewhere. Ship purchased excursions get off first.

have to pay $4.95 for a good hamburger. by dollarbill7663

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Beautiful ship, excellent crew, clean. Not as much fun on Lido deck as Carnival. No Jamaican music playing live. To get a good hamburger you have to pay $4.95 at Johnny Rockets, Carnival has Guy's burger joint at no up charge.

Great time on the Liberty of the Seas by cap4him

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a wonderful time on Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas ship.   Everything from boarding the boat to disembarking went exceptional well.  The food was very good.  We ate at two of the specialty restaurants, Chops Steak House and Sabor.  Wow, that is some good food.  We did not miss a show.  We saw real quick the quality and time put into these productions and looked forward to them each evening.  Definitely will be cruising again on this ship.

Liberty of the Seas - Western Caribbean by rickb59686206

Very nice ship and good service throughout the vessel.  Ports of call were all entertaining.  Would suggest RCI look into going paperless in the bars for those that have pre paid their package.

RC experience with liberty of the seas by edelarosa64

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Yes, I would recommend cruise to others, as well as RC.  Most favorite  part is, how friendly everyone is. And when something is not done right they are quick to rectify.  Least favorite is when an excursion is not fulfilled.  Is it not possible to leave early and do another excursion or go site seeing or shopping.

love sailing by judeehaven

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Sitting on the deck, reading my book, watching all the folks stroll by, meeting people from all over the country and eating frozen yogurt cones. I love getting dressed up, going down and having multiple photos opportunities available to us,  eating a fine dinner in a nice restaurant, and then going to a first class entertainment venue.

Awesome cruise out of Galveston on Royal Caribbean 'Liberty of the Seas' by SusieandSteve

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship is awesome!! Big & beautiful! Easy to navigate around on.

We had a pleasant dining experience every night. Our waiter and asst. waiter took really good care of us. They also accommodated me & my husband as we were on a very low salt diet and we were allowed to order the night before and the chef cooked it special for us. Food was great at dinner and at the Windjammer buffet on Deck 11. Entertainment was top of the line. My favorite was 'Tribute to the King' - Elvis (of course). Travis LeDoyt (impersonator) was so much like Elvis we felt like we were with Elvis!! Very talented & great voice!! If Elvis had not been discovered yet, Travis LeDoyt could have been Elvis!

Plenty for the kids to do too - It has a putt-putt golf course on upper deck 15 (I think). Rock climbing wall, Wave (surf) Rider, water slides, pool, basketball court, etc.  Would love to take another cruise on this ship in the future! You won't be disappointed!

I don't know what to title this by jacobjones

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was really good. I'm young, though, so the closing down of almost everything around 10 P.M. wasn't exactly thrilling. Especially the pool bars. Smokers tend to gather on deck 11, but if they want a drink at night then they have to go up to Olive Or Twist on 14.

Rembrandt was a very pleasurable experience. Brian Pires was the best waiter we could have ever asked for. He truly displayed impeccable service, and no one in my group could ever thank him enough for that experience.

Overall I was very impressed with the ship and offerings, so thank you all for a grand time.

My cruise on the Royal Caribbean - Liberty of the Seas by bobtempleton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Loved the ship and staff. Especially the Main evening dinner staff. The layout of the boat was easy to get around. The organization on getting the people moved around the boat for excursions, meals and departures was easy to follow and get on and off the ship without delays or waiting.
