Review summary

We really enjoyed this cruise, we’ve been on several Royal Caribbean cruises and will continue to cruise with this line. This was our first time in Europe and we had a great time.

Embarkation

Fast and efficient

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
For the most part the food was excellent, a couple of nights I was a bit disappointed in the selections in the main dining room, only because they have several items that are offered each night.

Giovanni's Table

5 out of 5

Excellent food here too!

Chops Grille

5 out of 5

This was our first time eating at Chops, we enjoyed it very much.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the pool, it gets crowded and can be hard finding chairs, but that’s to be expected.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We only saw a couple of shows in the Coral theatre but we thoroughly enjoyed each of them. Very professional entertainment and the seating is really comfortable and spacious.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had excellent service throughout the ship. Everyone is extremely friendly, helpful and quick to assist!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We liked this ship a lot, easy to get around layout. I thought the window elevators facing the ocean was a cool idea.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was the first time we chose a suite and we loved the extra space! The cabin was always clean, and very comfortable, but we were under the windjammer and every night and early morning we heard what sounded like carts rolling right above us. It was very annoying actually, we mentioned it to guest services they said they would look into it, but it never stopped, I don’t know what they could have done about it anyway.

Ports of call

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
This was a very long day but SO worth every minute! 9 hours. We took the Pompei, Almafi coast by land and sea tour. Again our guide was great, Pompei was just an amazing sight to see, and the information our guide provided made it that much better, then the drive up and down the mountain which was gorgeous, we had time to walk around the seaside village before getting in a boat for a ride along the coast. This was a great tour which included lunch.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We stayed in Rome for a few days before our cruise, I would strongly advise anyone who wants to go to the Vatican to purchase a tour, we did “skip the line” which we bought ahead of time.

Mykonos, Greece

5 out of 5
Loved Mykonos, we did a beach excursion to Elia which was very pretty, then when back at the port we took the water taxi to town, absolutely loved it there! Great shops and many cafes everywhere.

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
Another absolutely beautiful port. I was concerned because of reviews I’ve seen about the crowds here, we were very fortunate as there was only one other ship in port that day.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
We did a tour to the acropolis but only to the bottom of it. We were still able to see it pretty good. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting.

Messina, Sicily

5 out of 5
We took a tour “Taormina on your own transfer” beautiful drive up to this little town, lots of shops and cafes, very pretty.

Valletta, Malta

4 out of 5
We did not do an excursion here but took the hop on hop off bus, which stopped at many places we weren’t interested in getting off. We did get off in Mdina which was a cute area again plenty of shops etc. we wanted to continue to the blue grotto but we were afraid it would take too long.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and organized, no problems for us.
