Review summary

I purchased the reduced "guarantee" rate of a grand suite or better. Three days before our cruise they informed us that we had been downgraded due to their booking in-full the cruise. I told them they "guaranteed" in writing a similar or upgraded level. They did not care and offered to "reimburse me" a bit of my money. We obviously went on the cruise (who cancels a family trip in it's entirety three days prior - not to mention the airline would not reimburse us if we canceled?!). The room was very small. We needed to request two additional cots to accommodate our family. Our beds were crammed together side-by-side with no room for walking. RIDICULOUS!  The food was below average and the dining room took two hours from start to finish, thus could not see a show if we wanted to. The food was slightly better in the Windjammer cafe buffet, which was odd. Our family has cruised with Disney (by FAR the best) and Carnival and Norweigan. All far above what Royal Caribbean delivered.

Ship tip

Do not expect food quality to be there. And dining room serves over a two hour timeframe.

Terrible on Royals part , they should off at least offered Two adjoining Balconies???  But that's not what you paid for.  Definitely someone dropped the Ball ...

We did book and pay for the size room we needed. The grand suite. The agent said there was a fare sale going on that allowed us to book for a grand suite and a "guaranteed rate" - meaning reduced rate, but couldn't book exact suite number. The room would be assigned at a later date, but certainly a grand suite or better would be assigned……. so that is what was not honored, and we were placed in a small room that didn't accommodate our family size and reimbursed a small amount for inconvenience.
