Review summary

This was a great cruise! Jewel of the Seas is an older ship, so is much smaller and a little outdated when it comes to furnishings, but the ports of call and staff make up for it! Food, as always on Royal Carribean was awesome! I recommend booking excursions before hand and do not book the kayak snorkel adventure in Curaçao thru Royal Carribean unless you think kayaking and snorkeling by an oil rig would be fun lol! Otherwise a perfect trip! Also booking thru not only saved us money but got a free dinner at Chops Grille which is usually $30 pp I think, and got $100 onboard spending credit and included gratuities . I would definitely recommend this cruise!

The safety boats are right underneath your balcony, you could literally step over your balcony and onto them, (which would be a terrible idea btw), so if you want a clear view of the water beneath you may not like this, but it didn't bother us at all! Still a great view! Nice size room for 2 people as far as a cruise ship goes!

Ship tip

Get a balcony room, it is worth it!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Didn't get to see much of this as tropical storm Bertha was hitting on day of departure

Get out and see the island, we didn't and I feel we really missed out, as it is kinda dirty at the dock spot.

Willemstad, Curacao

The port where the ship docks is actually really pretty, just don't go kayaking by the oil rig...
