Review summary

This was a 20th Anniversary Cruise and we really enjoyed it. We saw a lot of wildlife from the ship, and loved the glacier viewing. Our Mini-Suite was wonderful, Princess remembered our occasion, and included many thoughtful touches for us. We were glad we had the "beverage package" and used it often, enjoyed the food as well. We had a great time and would do it again!!

Embarkation

we went at 2pm and just walked onto the ship with no waiting

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We had "anytime dining" and ate early and never had to wait long - always got a table for two. Ate at the Bayou Cafe - it was okay. Also at Sabatini's - it was fantastic!! Did not care for the Horizon Court Buffet.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5

Entertainment

we did not go to any of the shows - we did enjoy the presentations by the ship's naturalist and the Park Rangers

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room Steward was excellent, waiters in bars and at dinner very very good. Everyone was very attentive and pleasant.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Clean and well-maintained - it was crowded at times, especially on sea days.

Ship tip

Don't believe the "bad reviews" - it's a good ship!!

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

4 out of 5
Spent several days here before the cruise seeing the city

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

3 out of 5
Did the "Bear Search Excursion" - Icy Strait is very small port - which is both good and bad. The good - only one cruise ship, the bad - it's very small - not much to do. Would have preferred another port, like Ketchikan.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
Went to Mendenhall Glacier and salmon Hatchery. Was a full day. Had a late lunch in town.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Took the TRAIN - it is AWESOME!! Highly recommend!! Skagway itself is small but very charming.

Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska

4 out of 5
Not much to see in Whitter, but it is jumping off place for Anchorage - we got a great tour from bus driver on our way to the Airport
