Review summary

I would highly recommend Princess Cruise Line for anyone goin to Alaska. And definitely, whenever possible, do both the land and sea voyages. If you are going to go that far, do all you can to get the full experience. I would do it again sometime in the future and add even farther north destinations beyond Fairbanks.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was as smooth as it could be given that we had to go in to Canada Customs, then out, then back in to USA Customs to board the bus for transport to the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Phenomenally wonderful on all levels.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The shows were great, especially On The Bayou. What I especially DID NOT LIKE was the overemphasis on shopping for gold and jewelry! NO, I did not come to Alaska to buy jewelry as Jasmine seemed to think. I came to see the glaciers and the wildlife.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
On The Bayou was A++++.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room Steward Ding was wonderful. We loved his smiling manner.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Yes.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect. I lied the ocean view.

Ship tip

Prepay transfers, tips and excursions. Arrange your trip through a travel agent. They know all the ins and outs to make a perfectly stress-free experience for you. The more set up in advance the less you have to worry about.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

It would be great if this TSA and Customs process could be easier and speedier but it is what it is.

Take binoculars. Do the whale excursion in Juneau and layers for glacier watching. It gets cold there.
