We took this cruise as a 25th anniversary gift to ourselves and had an amazing time. We relaxed, enjoyed the magnificent scenery, dined on some wonderful meals, had some amazing excursions and learned so much about Alaska.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was handled very well, but it seemed that there were many steps after we were picked up at the airport and transported to Vancouver Port. After just going through Canadian customs at the airport, we then had to go through US customs at the port and then a few other steps before actually being able to embark the ship. We were fortunate to have had Club Class which allowed us to move quickly through some of the processes, but it appeared that others had to wait for a while.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We had Club Class anytime dining which was perfect. Club Class allowed us to walk right up and be seated immediately for the anytime dining. There was always a line of passengers waiting for the regular anytime dining. Food and service in Bordeaux Dining room were always excellent. Servers were always very pleasant and helpful when describing items on the menu and also encouraged us to try different things.
We received a free meal from our travel agent for Sabatini's Restaurant and it was excellent. I'm not sure I would have spent the extra $29/person to dine there, but since it was included we were very happy and enjoyed.
My husband loved the buffet, but I didn't care for it as much as eating in the regular dining room. I am generally not a fan of buffets so it's not necessarily anything against this buffet, just don't care for buffets in general.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We did not participate in many activities, but many were offered and others seemed to be enjoying.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We enjoyed all of the entertainment and also enjoyed the informational programs they had about wildlife or upcoming port activities.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All personnel we were in contact with were very professional, friendly and attentive. On occasion, it was somewhat difficult understanding some of them since most spoke different languages, but it really wasn't a problem at all and it was fun hearing about all the different places that the staff originated from.

Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin size was very comfortable for two people. We really enjoyed having a queen size bed and also the sitting area. The balcony was also very roomy and we spent a good amount of time out there, especially while in Glacier Bay and College Fiord.
Cabin was always clean and it seemed that housekeeping or cabin steward were in there often to empty garbage and freshen up everything.
We really enjoyed the Lumberjack show and Totem Bight State Park. We would have liked to walk around town a little more, but the "all-aboard" was pretty early on this day.
Glacier viewing in Seaplane was awesome, but my suggestion would be to take some anti-nausea medicine if you are prone to motion sickness as being in this small plane for an hour definitely made my stomach a little queasy.
We also did Whale watching in Juneau and loved it! Our tour was fortunate to see at least 20 Orca's and quite a few Humpback Whales. Tour guides on boat were awesome.
Mendenhall Glacier was very nice to see and I'd recommend going into the visitor's center to see it from a little higher up as there is a nice view and good info as well as a short movie. If time permits, take the short walkiing path to the picture spot to see a nice view of glacier and waterfall and get a few good pictures.
