Review summary

The itinerary ruled on this trip. The ports were great. Almost all the excursions were wonderful with good guides. The food on Princess in the dining rooms was excellent. Anytime diners need to know that after 8 pm you will likely have to wait to be seated (up to 45 minutes) Go earlier if you want to avoid. Balcony room on deck 11 was good. Not so good was the entertainment and the food in the Horizon court buffet, but breakfast was the best. There were signs of plumbing issues (sewer smells at some spots, floods over carpets, etc.) Deck lounge chairs were lacking--they need to get more. Overall, I think the Island Princess is due for a refurbishment next year. I believe this is one of their older ships.

Princess actually upgraded our cabin to B610 (deck 11, port side, mid aft). The room was good with a great balcony view which we fully enjoyed. The bathroom was a bit smaller than Celebrity, esp. the shower. Bed was very good, even with our back issues, Our room steward (Ariel) was excellent.

If you have aleady done to basics in Rome, consider the excursion to Orvieto. Medieval city with great shopping, Singorelli's frescos at the Doumo, and good food.

The excursion called Best of Pisa and Florence was so so. Long lines for seeing David and everything else was just viewing outside of buildings. Guide was not to good and headsets were poor audio quality.
