Review summary

Overall the cruise was really good, Staff were great and very helpful. Even better if there wasn't so much noise caused by children and teenagers running about and playing music at midnight around the decks.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Well organised, steedy rate and very helpful to first time cruisers.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent service, very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Participated in the Ballroom dance classes of Cha-Cha and Salsa, instructors were helpful and knoledgeable.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows were good and entertaining, unfortunally not for teenagers or toodlers. Band in the Pyramid Lounge was great and accepted request.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Dissapointed not enough things for children to do, and if you would like to go to the arcade with them it is quite expensive,

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent service from our waiters in the Main Dining Room; Rohan and Balaz.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very Good

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Size of cabin was really good, only downside was that there was not enough space to get around the bed as it was quite near the wall. Very comfortable bed.

Ship tip

Do not go when children are on holiday.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England Did not visit port

Embarkation

Gibraltar (U.K.)

3 out of 5
Not enough time on this port, therefore could not visit the Monkeys.

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

5 out of 5
Nice port, did not have to pay for the shuttle boat.

Toulon, France

2 out of 5
If you wanted to go to the main city, you needed to get a shuttle boat which was $20pp, thought that it was expensive.

Barcelona, Spain

4 out of 5
There was a shuttle bus going to a drop off area near Las Ramblas, to get this shuttle you had to get a "Day Pass" which was 15€. If you wanted to do anything else by yourself you had to pay out more money and either get a taxi or a bus.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

3 out of 5
Went on shore during the day, there was not much to do so went to an aquarium. Can't comment about night time. There wasn't much to do there second day as we left by 12am, therefore it was very hard to go on shore as there wouldn't be much time to go and do things.

Malaga, Spain

5 out of 5
Good port, beach was at walking distance and a bit further some shops.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

4 out of 5
There was abit of a walk from the ship to get out of the port, what made it worse was that the very warm weather, therefore many people was struggling to walk the distance, either because they were old, on wheelchair or with toddlers.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Good disembarkation, staff was really helpful, and everything run smoothly.

I sailed on the Indy in May and the Pyramid Lounge became overrun with what seemed like feral children running about. It's not like there isn't enough for them to do is it! And that wasn't even in the holidays! It's the only thing I would criticise about that cruise - there are plenty of activities for kids to do that don't involve running wild around bars where drinks staff are trying to walk around - let the grown ups have their time too.

Yes, the good ol' summer vacation cruises. I do not miss them.
