Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Overall good experience. Food could definitely be hotter & better selection. Dont buy the coffee card for Starbucks it is a rip off. Says you get 15 cups of speciality coffee however if you get a large you only get 5 cups because they punch your card 3 times for a large. End up paying $38 for 5 cups.. Total rip off.

It was a lot of fun. This was our second trip on the Grandeur of the Seas. We enjoyed visiting St. Kitt for the first time. The staff on the ship is excellent & I am looking forward to cruising next year.

Fantastic, relaxing 12-night Southern Caribbean... by cruiserdh

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Fantastic, relaxing 12-night Southern Caribbean cruise!! Have been on numerous RC cruises, but this ship, hands down, has the friendliest crew. Crew went well beyond expectations to provide excellent customer service! All staff working @ Cafe "Latt-tudes" were so eager to please and personable. Balcony stateroom (#7568) was clean & well maintained - Plenty of room for 2 adults. Windjammer Marketplace food options were impressive with much variety. Ate majority of dinners in Windjammer due to choice of being laid back and more casual. Had 2 meals in the specialty restaurant, "Chops Grille" which were spectacular! Waiter, "Big Red," provided us with excellent service both meals. Night time shows & entertainment overall very good - Jimmy Carroll (Comedian), Tony Tillman (entertainer/singer), RC Production "Broadway Rhythm & Rhyme," Matthew Fallon (Comedy Hypnosis show), David Lucus (Comedy/singer), Kevin Johnson, & "Britain's Finest" - Beatles Tribute Band. Loved the evening shows and music with the band "Celebration." Sea days (6) could have had more programs and activites planned in my opinion. All in all, great cruise that was memorable & relaxing!

Many thanks to everyone we encountered on 3/15/18 sailing. Especially Nilesh, and Morgan from the MDR and Genevieve from the R Bar who knew when to replenish our drinks. (Drink package is a must!). Best 10 days ever.

Wonderful anniversary trip! by gloriah311

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Would I go again? Not Royal and only because of the lack of entertainment and the horrible shore experiences. We had 2 shore experiences cancelled and two of the three we went on were horrible. My main reason for cruising is the shore trips and so no we would not come back to Royal. I was very unhappy with the way the cruise director every night every night at the show would make ageist jokes!! “There are only 9 people under age 45 on this ship” “Don’t know why we bother with late night on the deck when no one shows up. The bartenders stand around looking for someone anyone still Awake” “ The Cruise is filled with people spending their retirement here.” Etc. Yes there were a great many older passengers and some with more r scooters - he also joked about that - but hey they pay his salaries! Instead of insulting the older cruise crowd how about he start scheduling things they would actually enjoy!!!

Was on Grandeur my first time this past March. Love the small ship and her intimacy. Friendly staff and food was delicious. Not my first cruise (13), but already booked in Grandeur for April of next year. 12 night Caribbean

The ship is not up... by HiyaDee

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

The ship is not up to Royal’s normal. Recent menu changes had many complaining about food in the Windjammer. It’s was very cafeteria level. The ship is in dire need of updates and refreshing. Shows were fair - comedians were greet. As most everyone has said the staff was wonderful ....all except the main dining hall at breakfast. One of 3 times we tried they sat us and didn’t even get coffee for 20 minutes. We tried Chops one night - I’d give it a better rating than hubby. His steak was recommended med rare ( his norm as well) it was served cooked well done and dry. Things happen...sent it back - second one was completely raw minus charring. They were running behind and were nice enough to let us return after the show for dessert. We loved the convenience of cruising out of Baltimore - but think the smaller : dated ship will keep us flying south.

This has been the worst... by atkinsonem

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

This has been the worst experience I have ever had. The service is terrible, something on the ship is always breaking, the staff is annoyed by you, random charges showing up on my credit card that they can’t explain and the food is mediocre. I do not recommend this cruise.

February in the Bahamas by Aubreyd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

This was a very nice cruise. We went in February to get out of the cold weather. Easy for us to get to the Baltimore terminal only 2.3 hours away from home.

This was my second cruise.... by GoodMommy6399

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

This was my second cruise. First was on Carnival in 1995 and before I was married. This was my husband's first cruise. We don't have a child anymore so a ship with all the bells and whistles (water slides, bumper cars, etc) was not needed... which adds to the price of your cruise. Because of our location, leaving out of Baltimore and not having to fly is a big plus for us. The cost of flying and not having to pay baggage fees is another plus. We sailed on the Grandeur in March, 2018. 10 days. I didn't think my husband would like cruising. We are in our late 40's. Let me tell you! My husband said on the 3rd day of the cruise "We are booking another cruise on this same ship, before disembark!!" I was elated! Yes. The Grandeur is an older ship. Yes. It is smaller. No it doesn't have all the bells and whistles. Yes. The crowd is a little older. But if you are looking for an inexpensive, relaxing cruise with a chance to visit fabulous ports? The Grandeur is what you need. FABULOUS food in the dining room, buffet and speciality restaurants. Excellent service from the staff. We are happy to be sailing on the Grandeur for our 2nd cruise in 2019! 12 days, 5 ports and we updated to a balcony! Let the relaxation, exploration of new adventures and fun times begin!

Fantastic February Cruise Down the Southeast Coast by stephanieslash

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was a laid-back 9 day cruise for pure relaxation. The weather was beautiful until the last couple of days when we were skirting a Nor'easter. Captain Ante (who has a wonderful sense of humor!!! Sad I missed Captain's Corner) seemed to make good decisions as to how to get us back to Baltimore in a safe and timely manner. As I said before, the service and staff on Grandeur were wonderful. Looking forward to sailing on her again next year.

Relaxing CruiseRasy by oldandgray

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first Royal Caribbean Cruise. We enjoyed ourselves. Our stateroom attendant, Jeremy, was fantastic. The food was great and there was plenty of it. Although, the ship was older, it was very clean. We will go on another Royal Caribbean Cruise.

Was a good trip but... by Crazyoverlv

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Was a good trip but would not sail on Grandeur again. The ship is old which isn’t a problem. The problem is that Royal Caribbean has forgotten about this ship. Nothing really to do if your under the age of 60 after the first couple of days as you’ve most likely already done it. Worker on the ship are amazingly nice especially the wait staff for the bars and restaurants. With that most of the ships crew had no idea was was going on when it came to ports. If you ask where to get the towels for the beach you would get 6 different answers and they would all be wrong. If you have booked any excursions get ready this wait an hour and not know where to line up. It’s sad that this was my husbands first cruise and my 4th with Royal Caribbean so I talked about how awesome this trip would be. Only to be disappointed in what we really got.

FABULOUS by sisinlaw

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

FABULOUS TIME: I injured my knee no one's fault but my own. However I feel something should be done for care if this should happen in the future with anyone. Made to leave terminal without any support of wheelchair or assistance.
